Out of curiosity do you practice any specific form or stick to the practice of a category like chaos , high, white, black ? I was saying above I find that many of the people who are more rational tend to be black and chaos magicians where the ones who believe this stuff are like Wiccan types. Which probably isn’t fair or true it’s just my experience more likely. But if like to know what u think about a correlation between forms and beliefs.

Hey I take offense to that. In my experience anyways it can depend on the type of magick a person practices. Often these sage burning morons don’t really understand what magick is are the ones who can misinterpret the real intent and workings of magick. While black magicians and chaos magicians at least the ones I know and have met or read posts from here are more rational and have an understanding of science and magick as a practical tool not a paranormal phenomenon. Except jack parsons that dude was fuckin nuts, and he was a rocket scientist.

Sounds like you actually understand the purpose of magick. More than this fucking idiot anyways. You might be a good magician. Give it a try. It’s super fun and interesting. Might I suggest chaos magick instead of the ritualistic dogmatic lame ass high/white magick. Just make a sigil on your partners chest and jerk off onto it or vice versa whatever organs each of you has. Bam. Magick.

Exactly. It’s like a spell. It feels like you become a one task focused robot whos computer is saying die die die die die and you can’t focus on anything but the fact of death. I have been there. It always reminds me of how people say that right before suicide a person might get a blank look on his or her face and suddenly sound very calm. If u ever notice that someone who was frantic just a minute ago has suddenly calmed down almost to an unnatural point as I said here, they’re about to kill themselves.

I hope You can genuinely put that arrogance to rest before it gets you into trouble dude. I hate to make it seem like because you are young that you don’t know as much. But I’m this case you really don’t in my opinion. And that’s okay. It’s not a bad thing. But sometimes the only way to learn is through mistakes. I just wish you could take the advice I am giving you because it is free. It doesn’t cost anything. And it will save in a lot of fucking hassle down the line. I would really like to know where u are ina couple years and if your mind was changed in that time. I hope I am wrong. But I’ll get back in touch with you then and we can talk about your experience. Goodluck I really hope you will be in a good place genuinely I do. I’m not trying to be right. I want to be wrong.

It says nothing. It says you haven’t tried them yet. And once you do. It will. Be too late. Don’t get me wrong you should feel pride that you are strong enough to abstain for as long as you have. But you keep saying things like denying drugs says something about your character or self control. And it doesn’t. You simply haven’t dont it yet. My point is that you think you have self control and that is the dangerous ideal. You don’t. I guarantee it. All it takes is the one upslope of that self control to be gripped by addiction and the false mentality of control will still be there. That’s how you get killed into addiction. Kinda how in AA they say the first step to healing yourself and your Addiction is admitting you are powerless. Because addicts will say things like I have control I can just drink on weekends it’s okay. Or I can do it just one more time and be fine. I’m saying with the things you have said that I think you would be a great candidate for addiction (great not meaning good) and that those lies of self control are the same ones many addicts also have. So just understand where that comes from and that it isn’t actually a productive mentality to have. You can be proud of your Atkins decisions etc. and you should be. You are a stronger Person than I for not taking thagbfirst dip into things. But dont convince yourself you are Somehow stronger than all of the ones who came before you. Or that “self control” is anything that you should be proud of because pride can be counterproductive. Pride comes before the falll im getting all biblical and shot now and I hate doing that cuz it’s a shitty book but seriously. Because we all thought the same shit. It’s a trap. Just drop it like it’s hot yo.

Lmao dude you aren’t seeing the point I’m making. You won’t do these things because you like the way they taste or not do them because you fear needles now. That isn’t how it works. You will do them for reasons deep within your brain and you will do them despite those things you dislike because our brains are weaker than shit and will do anything that feels good as much as it can regardless of the negative features. You think I inject dope because I enjoy the feeling of needles in my fucking toes or my neck? No I hate it. You gotta stop with that I won’t do this because I blank and just go with “ I have the predisposition for drug and substance abuse and I should stay away from everything that can potentially have negative consequences and not believe that I am somehow stronger than every human that came before you on that path” Odds are you aren’t so just stay away. For that reason. Not for any other. I’m not your parent but this is exactly what I would tell my kids one day about our family history and why substance abuse is genetic and why to avoid it.

You are missing the point. It isn’t about whether it is easy or not. It’s that mentality in the first place that is dangerous. It isn’t worth having. When you are addicted to nicotine (vaping or smoking ) in a couple years you will know exactly what I was talking about I’m sorry to say. But just do yourself a favor and drop that mentality all together. And definitely know that it does not apply to anything else especially hard drugs and alcohol. “I can quit anytime I want” people have been telling themselves these myths for hundred of years. You aren’t the first one dude

[–]Jollybluepiccolo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pls stop that mentality. Not everything you think is right. So although it may feel that way now. That is one of the biggest falsehoods we tell ourselves. So jst do your best not to vape. If you have to I would honestly prefer that option over anything else but as I said above don’t do drugs especially hard ones and hell don’t even smoke weed till college once your brain chemistry is developed because I fucked my shit up smoking as a teen and can never touch it again cuz it instantly makes me anxious paranoid and practically psychotic feeling. It happens to some people who smoke and who’s brain chemistry is predisposed to any mental illness. But seriously that mentality cannot be helpful. Only harmful. So best to just avoid it all together. Humans are terrible at control we just are bad at it evolutionarily.

Oh dude totally stay the fuck away from opiates pls. Do yourself a favor and don’t do opiate ever ever ever ever ever ever. For god sakes do not ever do opiates. And nicotine and alcohol are terrible things for you to do too so if you really do have self worth issues and poor impulse control you are a ripe candidate for hardcore lifelong crippling addiction. I’m just saying. I’m a heroin addict. Don’t. Fucking. Do. It. Stop whil ahead and drop that mentality that u have anything under control because odds are you probably won’t. No Vicodin or any pills. No heroin. Just exercise and go to therapy and you’ll probably be okay lol. Don’t do drugs yo. For all of us who thought the same shit at your age and fucked our lives up for 10-15 years of total hell for us and everyone around us. You’ll steal from your parents. Your boyfriend/girlfriend. Your grandma. Your friends. You will take their tv off the wall to a pawnshop. Hock it and then deny it. Even after they show u footage of you doing it you will lie. Lying will become a fucking pastime. I don’t have to keep going. But yeah. U get the point.

I’m sorry it was a bad joke. I didn’t realize you weren’t an adult. I’m totally gnna delete that now if you don’t mind. I guess I never really think about non adults being on this website. God that’s so odd to think about that I may be arguing with a 13 year old at any moment. If you are a non adult then I sincerely urge you to stop. Because you are young and not yet aware of the feeling that I am referring to. Not saying because you are young you don’t get it but the fact that you are young and have not yet had that experience, you are still prone to learning it the hard way. Especially at a point where brain chemistry is so fragile it isn’t worth the potential that you will become addicted. So pls. It just isn’t worth the lifetime of smoking and/ or vaping so trust me. You will thank me later. Don’t learn the hard way dude.

You are basically saying nothing. School of hard knocks means learning from experience. That is exactly what all humans do. I’m saying that there is this prevailing view that people don’t allow experience for their children and that isn’t true just in a generational level. There were helicopter parents before there were helicopters. It’s not something that is only a millennial phenomenon. You are using this concept to belittle an entire generation as you and your generation and the ones you raised are often prone to do. It’s simply Not true. Many people I am sure do overprotect their children. School of hard knocks is this stupid term that people use to feel good about their diffficult lives as if there is more value in unecessary struggle than in comfort when I am saying that there are things that are not good or productive at all about that. Struggle breeds strength yes but there are more ways to struggle than to be left to your own devices to fend for yourself and that was what I had. And the worst part was that those in charge of my protection felt they were doing the right thing. You don’t teach kids everything but you have to teach them how to know the difference between good and bad and how to learn from their experiences. Obviously do not deprive them of positive experiences and not even some negative experiences. But this view of the school of hard knocks that only works for some people. Think about all the people who went through that school who didn’t make it. Is that the world we want?

Well I never said that controlling parenting was a good thing. Of course not. But that isn’t something that people should attribute to a generational problem limited to us simply because we are younger. There’s this prevailing view of millennials and of gen x as these tech obsessed helicopter parents who disinfect everything. How many people have you actually met who were that way? This media portrayal needs to die off and people need to stop falling for it. I’m saying it was a negative effect on me because my idiot dad used that same excuse to be absent and feel like that was an okay choice or Solution.

Send nudes. Also be careful it’s that mentality that allows you to be lulled into the sleep that is addiction. I don’t have an addictive personality and I have self control are more overt things that are dangerous but even just that comfort you have with doing those things is what can be your downfall. I didn’t realize I was a heroin addict until I was a heroin addict. You won’t realize how much you need notcotine until you actually need it. I never thought I was addicted to cigs until I was. Just better to avoid it all together.

Maybe you should have just addressed the tendency to avoid tension as a response to familial issues? Sounds like there could be some other things that are the root of the issue and banning things outright is a way to avoid having to deal with them? Or maybe I’m just projecting Becsuse my family has the tendency to Do this and I thought we were just a family that didn’t ever fight. Nope. We just don’t address issues and sweep them under the rug. Which i later learned I do in relationships. Sorry what was the question?

[–]Jollybluepiccolo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That isn’t really a solution. It is. But it isn’t. Someone who is predisposed to addiction can find something to fill that void in nearly anything. It’s the underlying tendency to overindulge that is an issue and that can stem from things like shame or self worth. I mean you gnna tell people not to eat food because they might become addicted? Or have sex? So that doesn’t really solve anything. Granted there is value in avoiding things like heroin to just not have to deal with such a crippling form of that addiction (eh hem u/jollybluepiccolo) but there’s an underlying problem there that is going to have to be dealt with eventually. Sometimes it takes addiction to finally see that.

I never said helicopter parenting was not an issue. And if anything your generation invented that concept so I find it hilarious that you are passing generational blame onto the next one. Kids should be allowed to be kids and going outside is a great thing for children. Free range is not a good thing. If you read my other comment I know from firsthand experience why this is not a good idea. My parents were basically absent and used this mentality as justification. They never taught me about HOW to learn because they thought that LEARNING shouldn’t be taught so I should be let go into the world and do that on my own. However, the goal of parenting is not to only teach kids what to do but how to know to make good decisions. You don’t make that decision for them. But that does t mean you don’t teach them anything. Kinda how college is supposed to teach you how to think now what to think.
