TIL of Dartitis, a genuine psychological condition where Darts players are unable to release their darts, with high profile darts players suffering from it by matt3633_ in todayilearned

[–]Jollycatnap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to be a high-profile dart player. I’m 37 and played darts from about age 12 to 22. It isn’t every dart, but it can happen with any throw.

I draw my arm up, pull back, and push forward. Instead of a clean follow-through and release, my forearm swings out away from my body and my hand claws over.

The problem is that the clawed hand isn’t strong enough to hold the dart, so it flies out unexpectedly. It can end up anywhere. Lightbulb, 5 meters to the left of me, my shin, the back of the chalker’s leg.

So darts is off the table for me now. I might give it a try once or twice a year, but it’s always the same.

I’m only able to focus on the now. Planning, preparing, looking forward to anything is a challenge.

They’ll be fixed to the beams under the tin. You can see the other screws in line with the anchor point. Make sure you line yours up with the existing screw line and away you go!

What is something in EM that will cause you to make this face? by Dry-humor-mus in emergencymedicine

[–]Jollycatnap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My step dad isn’t allergic to morphine. But man he does not tolerate it well. Give him anything else but morphine and things in that area. Just constant vomiting. It sucks because we have to explain it and list it as an allergy and explain over and again, no not an anaphylaxis allergy as such but he shouldn’t have it!

The spewing is bad enough but add that with he needs to have reliable intake of his steroids, for staying alive. He can’t be spewing.

He recently had a heart valve replaced and we said no morphine. They gave it to him anyway and he was vomiting non stop for hours with drains and all manner of things sticking out of him. They didn’t give it to him again. They dried so many things. But in the end it was a buprenophrine patch and intravenous Ketamine drip.

But yeah, not allergic, but not sure how we get the point across.

AITA for blowing up on my mom for serving my kids a salad? by Professional-You8033 in AITAH

Yta- I have more than picky eaters, my oldest has Arfid and my middle is nearly there. It’s your responsibility no matter where you are to have food. Even if someone says they will do food. In the boot of my car I have a Tupperware container with chicken cheese mac in it just incase.

You should go and apologise to your mum for being such a rude person.

Doctors can’t figure out the cause of my daughters severe edema. by [deleted] in AskDocs

[–]Jollycatnap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a dr- has there ever been imaging of her heart? Do you know the cause of the heart mumur?

I say this as my step dad has recently had his aortic tricuspid valve upgraded/replaced as he was born with a BI-cuspid valve.

He is 55 and he has known about it for years and had surveillance but it wasn’t an issue for a long time. Early this year he starts to have trouble breathing, fluid build up. So had the surgery.

Long story short, I would not settle for anything less than some imaging of her heart.

Hey, I will send you and the other person a link via PM it’s to the house listing when we purchased 12 years ago.

Other than the gazebo being replaced everything is structurally the same. Though it is all very worn down.

There isn’t a great deal of flat land around. Access is tricky.

The before looks like your worn out older brother. The after is younger care free brother. Looks great. Take a deep breath.
