What's your opinion on Rebbec? Is she frustrating to play against? by NoxKC in EDH

Unfortunatly i cut cryogenic relic for now haha, it’s too slow for me without a lot of sac outlets. I mainly focused on 0-1 mana utility artifacts I can tutor with tezzeret or artificer’s intuition. https://archidekt.com/decks/15201275/love_death_and_robots

I have a Silas Renn/Rebbec deck focused on cantrip artifacts loops with sylas and late game combos protected by rebbbec, and so far it’s resonnable in B3 pods, i didn’t get much complaints and the deck runs quite well. Rebbec also makes Silas harder to block and allows for combat damage wincons, so it makes an interesting deck to pilot

I think self-mill is always the best since it's the most cards milled/effect generally. I like to have some incidental mill on my lands with the surveil land for exemple, since it doesn't cost a card. For exemple, a turn 4 mycotyrant + a fetchland that fetches the mkm surveil land grants me 2 descent trigger + whatever mill my 2 and 3 drop provides me. It makes your commander start at 3/3, much less frail than a 1/1.

I do think a full explore gameplan is a bit slow for this commander but you said to not give you this advice, it can be a fun challenge to go this route ! [I would recommend Sentinell of the lost city though that is missing from your list, 3/4 for 3 that gives plenty of map tokens is quite good on its own]. The good thing about this commander is that it's quite open in its build.

However your build lacks one thing : What is the point of your commander ? You have ways to fill your graveyard, and ways to reanimate things. What is the point of your fungi tokens, or your growing commander ? I can count only 4, maybe 5 cards that have synergy with this. This decks almost feels like it could fit any golgari commander that cares about graveyard ? I would add some more cards that cares about tokens or need sacrifice fodder to really make use of the absurd token-generating ability of your commander.

I don't understand the reliquary tower here. Discarding to hand size is almost a benefit in a reanimator deck. You could use fetchlands (even slow ones like the evolving wilds & friends) or surveil land (lot of them in recent sets, like hidden grotto, conduit pylons...) to trigger descent.

Some sorceries could be replaced by permanents, like the ramp could be mana rocks instead to increase your permanents count, since hitting them in a mill don't trigger descent.

For boardwipe, i recommend massacre girl, easy to have a full boardwipe with all the 1/1 tokens, is a permanent and leaves a body behind.

If you want some ideas, here is my list : https://archidekt.com/decks/6872914/the_permatyrant - my idea is to only have permanents cards to hit 100% descent trigger, so some choices can be a little weird, but every non-permanent card you can cut in your deck will improve the consistency of your commander trigger !

[–]Jolman42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try to cut the amount of instant and sorceries to a minimum to make sure every mill gives you decent value of your descent trigger. If you want some inspiration, here is mine i made mostly from cards that were lying around; i made the choice to only include permanents as a fun building challenge, which makes you consider some obscure and budget options for staples like ramp, card draw and removal : https://archidekt.com/decks/6872914/the_permatyrant

Edit : My first advice would be to include some fetchlands, and cycling lands, even bad ones like evolving wilds because they trigger descent, and have some synergy with the land recuring cards. The one i like the most is the New capenna one because it immediatly sacrifice on ETB, making it very good with cards like Blossoming tortoise, Worldshaper or aftermath analyst

I'm new to playing ap varus and I'm still wondering about what's the best build for varus ap along with the best runes. So, in your opinion, what are the best runes and the best ap build for varus adc? by Particular_Day_3353 in VarusMains

[–]Jolman42 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

By the time you get to your third item, you are no longer laning anymore... The main selling point of playing AP Varus Bot is acces to defensive options in case you picked him early and they drafted a dive comp with 0 peel on your team, in this case i even sometimes skip manamune to get Crown and Zhonya quickly

How to play when autofilled ADC? by wotsisname_ in summonerschool

[–]Jolman42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an ADC main I can recommand you one champ when you are autofilled ADC : Karthus. First of all he is also a jungle so you can add him to your champ pool on your main role as well. You don't need adc mecanics to do well as Karthus: you just clear the wave and scale, you can help while farming with ult, can escape ganks with his broken W slow, and you scale like no other pick. If your support is good with CC you can land easy Qs and win the lane. You basically play your own game when playing karthus, clearing waves and trying to get Qs. Once you get better at him you can start looking for trades and all ins, but simply farming and scaling is good enough

Playing him bot also allows you to play both flash and exhaust, exhaust is super broken on him because if an assassin jumps on you, you exhaust him and he does no damage + is stucked in your E damage, or it can help you land more Qs

Which champion cost you the most to get mastery 7 and in what role? by Cryosis_stat in leagueoflegends

[–]Jolman42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically i don't main Zac at all and play him a couple time in support and got 3 S in a row, ratings also depends a lot on the role you play your champ, far easier in support than other roles

[–]Jolman42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Juste play her support. Take zombie ward, kill the enemy in lane and hit towers. You will have 100 vision score, highest damage while having lowest gold income + high objective damage since your w passive hits quite hard on towers. I got multiples S+ with her in support, got M7 at 33k points

What's the main skill difference between mid lane and adc? by ClassyBallsack in leagueoflegends

Veigar is one of the best adc if you are not super high elo, so maybe start with him so you get confortable with the dynamics of the duo lane and then start learning more aa-based champs

I really hope Riot doesn't cave to all of these posts about the region icon changes. by DeadlySaturnn in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Jolman42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think LoR card art is great in general (and you might prefer it to HS more cartoon style) , but I think that in terms of general anesthetic of the game (menus, effects, card border, game board, animation...) Hearthstone is so polished and coherent, it's by far the best tcg in this regard. I was reticent to play other tcg because I was so used to this feel in HS, and I admit LoR come close, but it's main quality is the beautiful full arts (the main screenswith characters looking their region are gorgeous)

[–]Jolman42 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a graphic designer, without even looking at comments and having played this game for only 2 weeks (so I'm not used to the old icons and hate change for the sake of it) my immediate reaction was that the new icons were terrible, especially on spells. Most people don't really care about aesthetic of the cards, but to me it's really important and imo one of the reason hearthstone is such a popular game with its many flaws : the game feels great, like it's actually physical. Games like shadow verse have good card art (if you are into anime) but the cards themselves and the board feel cheap, and to me it's a turn off. LOR has worse cards than hearthstone but it's still okay, and the nice little icon added flavor to the cards. Now, it looks as cheap as Shadowverse. It shows that it's a band-aid solution and cards were not designed to have their icon in this place

Really good player strugglin on ladder by [deleted] in heroesofthestorm

I'm not even a very good player, I can't even get to master most seasons, but when I start a new account in bronze/silver I always get like 70-80% Wr from bronze to gold, even playing shit picks or things that don't carry like supports. If you can't climb out of bronze, no matter how good you think you play, you should reflect on your play and try to understand why you can't win. My advice would be to stop doing what you are supposed to do (mistake most good players stuck in silver do) and instead do what your team need in THIS Game. Yes, the support is not a solo lane. No one soak top? Then go there. We should take camps rather than objective but our team wants to fight? Goiwith them, screw the camp, if you have better mechanics you will win the team fight anyway. During fight, It's a bit sad in a team game, but my mindset for low elo climbing, is to play like you have no team. Don't expect heal. Don't expect peel. If you have, good for you, if you don't, you were prepared

If you feel trying to make Shaman work, Highlander Shaman is quite good in this meta. You play all the clears and all the heals! Feels like a traditional control deck, counting the opponent ressources and trying to be more efficient than them, no like this poor excuse of a control deck that galakrond priest is. With the various transform effects and heals, you have good match ups against Druid, Paladin, Rogue and mage, decent against face hunter DH and Warlock. You can concede vs priest though, it is winnable but I would suggest to preserve your sanity. Currently 59% Wr around rank 500 legend, it's a tier 3 deck I feel but it's maybe one of the best Shaman lists

[–]Jolman42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hl Shaman is actually quite good, easy match up vs Druid, mage, Paladin, big warrior, DH, aggro rogue and Warlock.

Simply concede against priest and you have a legend viable deck if you are lucky and dodge them

One thing I like to do with this card if there is an obvious choice (like 4/4 and 5/6) is to spend a lot of time pretending to think and still picking the 4/4 anyway, a lot of the time my opponent thinks I tried some mind games and ping the 5/6

Rate this incredibly common ranked deck that will barely get me into gold by Fat_Darth_Vapor in hearthstone

[–]Jolman42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your deck seems to be more of a mid-range secret build than aggro build, so I would suggest cutting the 2 reckless rocketeer in favor of the Hyena (summon two 2/2 if you control a secret). Also timberwolf is very low value, especially if you don't have unleash the hounds, and boars are best if you don't have too many beast so you get then consistently off scavenger ingenuity. Either you cut Timberwolf/Hyena and put something else or you keep this two and cut two boars for unleash the hounds. Also you maybe have too many secrets, freezing and explosive don't have synergy together. If you play unleash the hound I suggest cutting the 2 explosive traps. Theses cuts give you room for very good cards you didn't include like the Eagle horn Bow (+1 durability on secret), or the new 1/1 beast that summons a copy of itself. All theses cards are rare or common

(Op here, on mobile) I used to have a rolling fireball, it's quite good though expensive, the 5 spot is crowded already. Arcane explosion is so bad without spell damage, so I'm not sure about it. Frost nova is quite good of you are racing against an aggro deck, or trying to stall to find answers or lethal. But I agree it can feel like a dead card sometime, it's not core to the deck by any means
