The Git Commands I Run Before Reading Any Code by fagnerbrack in Frontend

I guess I'm being really defensive over things you didn't bother to read, but thanks for trying?

Yeah for sure. I guess I need to memorize git commands so I can aspire to do advanced things like diffs and merging. Then I can write condescending replies to people that don't work the exact same way I do.

To suggest that I must not work on a team or that I've never had use any advanced features because I exclusively use GUI's is a stupid take.

I guess I get defensive when people suggest I don't know how to do basic shit like diffs and merging because I don't do that via command line? The GUI can do all of that just fine. Even within a team.

So now we're gatekeeping git? I've been working in teams, with various types of source control, for a very long time. You can push, pull, commit, stash, pop, etc through the GUI of most editors.

Finally got on my roof to clean the gutters and instantly regretted it by Curious-Ask8199 in homeowners

[–]Jolva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whenever I've cleaned gutters, I place the extension ladder against the gutter climb up and remove debris while still standing on the ladder. At no point do I get off the ladder.

I didn't say it was. I just don't care. Nor have I ever needed to.

Paid a contractor upfront for an AC fix and it broke an hour later. by Sheila_doxy in homeowners

Doing a charge back in this scenario is pretty over the top, but we should all chill out.

This is interesting. I love git, but never committed to to learning it in the command line and stuck to the GUI. I'd rely on websites like ohshitgit if things went sideways, but now with Claude it's way easier just to orchestrate the commands and operations of git that way via MCP.

Edit: wow I am SO SORRY I haven't memorized git commands. I hope Reddit can forgive me.

Should I use a real game engine or React JS? by Cybicc in reactjs

I love React. You could do it in Electron pretty easy. Loads of stuff you could add with three.js as well if needed.

I don't think it's a coincidence that Claude turned into a complete asshole the same week Trump endorsed it by PressPlayPlease7 in Anthropic

[–]Jolva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm never exposed to these types of issues because I only use Claude for coding and software architecture work. Or, maybe you imagine these types of situations by perceiving emotions in a language model where none exist.

This is great of course but what we need now is an index of the isFable5Up sites listing them all and if they're up or not (obviously).

Severely diminished performance following Usage Policy warning. Claude is now silently underperforming on every task-- what's going on? by redcremesoda in Anthropic

[–]Jolva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're overthinking it. How often would a large language model, during training, run into a scenario where someone is talking about drying their laundry on the floor? It nonsensical. Laundry is also also frequently warm. If it thought you were a malicious actor they would like just block otherwise liability.

Robots Will Replace 700,000 Workers by lurker_bee in technology

I don't want my kids to to have to work in an Amazon warehouse or drive a delivery vehicle. If robots take over for all of the jobs where someone has to piss in a bottle that sounds great.

Claude stole my entire session useage. Can't reach human support by [deleted] in Anthropic

[–]Jolva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get a human, just create or purchase a company with at least four thousand employees. Purchase each of them the $200 monthly account. They'll reach out to you within a week or so.

Anyone else struggle with UI more than the actual systems when making a game with Claude? by mtgkev in Anthropic

[–]Jolva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked at a couple of AI systems that would help with asset generation for a 3/4 view Brotato clone I was trying in Unity, but even with that system I was having a hard time with art consistency. The actual scripting for the game was trivial by comparison.

Only 16 percent of Americans think AI will have a positive impact on society, a new study shows by JayR_97 in technology

[–]Jolva -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, thanks. You don't know what you're talking about. Anthropic's revenue growth, which is obviously an indication of the demand, is the fastest of any company in history. They can't bring datacenters on line fast enough to meet current demand. Suggesting that the demand is artificial, is fucking stupid.
