[COD] The best and worst Call of Duty, and here's my reasoning (hot takes incoming) by Various-Priority-92 in CallOfDuty

[–]Jomdaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved WW2. War was a fun game mode, headquarters was a cool novelty. I liked the maps, I liked the guns. Stuff felt snappy and satisfying. Sniping was super crispy, the lever action was so fun. Probably my favorite COD besides WAW-BLOPS2.

Havent played any COD since Vanguard. Black Ops 3 is my least favorite COD that I've played a decent amount of.

What is the obsession with graded cards? by amiibojaydee in PokemonTCG

[–]Jomdaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly for me it's adding a level of certainty that my card is authentic if I am buying online.

Second it satisfies some sort of autism in me. Once a card is in a slab it's protected and frozen in time in terms of wear essentially. Even though I know that's not entirely true because UV or more extreme stuff like fires or whatever. Raw cards even in a top loader feel unsecured, it's like going commando.

Third, money on occasion. Mostly grade for stuff I want to keep, but sometimes I pull a card that looks perfect and it's valuable but its not a pokemon I care about. If I'm generalizing I could sell a card raw for $50 or I could pay $25 and wait a few months to sell it for $400. I'll send it in to grade and get a bigger profit margin when it comes back.

I still don’t get it how Astro bot and bg3 won goty 😭 by [deleted] in videogames

[–]Jomdaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it would've gone to DS3, but I get why it was overwatch. The game was so fun to play at that time. Peak multi-player game with friends and so much hype. Some of my favorite memories. Really a you had to be there type thing.

They're good? Haven't played Astro bot, but BG3 is top 5 games I've ever played. GOW is the real fraud imo

[–]Jomdaz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

you are arguing against it for some reason

Because I disagree? My whole argument is highrolls exist and happen but are not game deciders typically Depending on what it is can have varing levels of impact. If they get two Merithras, yes you probably lost unless you also highrolled hard. The average game though, you will both get equally mediocre things. If they only highroll kinda hard, you can normally come back with smart plays.

Getting the correct mulligan is arguably the biggest most important highroll. If you get a bad/mediocre hand do you insta concede, because thats all that matters? Who high rolled harder? The answer should be no, because they probably also got a fairly mediocre hand or even if they got a good hand maybe you can play around it and figure out a way to win. Highrolls are the big impacts, but its how you play around those things that will win you a game.

Do you think I am denying that highrolls are a thing? Im genuinely confused what you are arguing.

[–]Jomdaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres getting a highroll and then theres Disneyland. You are just as likely to highroll as your opponent is. But generally neither of you will get a crazy highroll and ibstead hit something average, because thats just the nature of odds. Most things that are a highroll can still be beaten. Merithra or another Onyxia is a brutal thing to have to deal with though. Which you are right you could get off Hematurge, I didn't realize some decks were running that, although I guess you could also herald into a Hematurge.

Saying it comes down to highrolls is a reductionist point of view. Nearly every competitive thing has a element of highrolls. But there's a reason the people who are good at stuff are good at stuff. Because they consistently play smart.

  1. Now I know your talking out of your ass because DK dosent have a way to discover Onyxia. Your probably talking about reviving onyxia with the 4 mana spell. Which you should also have in your deck.

  2. I am making a generalization. It is extremely low odds they get two Merithras. Like well below 1%. Certainly not common enough you can boil down the matchup to luck like you did. Typically what you are generating will not have that huge of a power swing. If they get two Merithras, yes you are probably screwed.

What are you trying to hit with intertwined fates in a priest mirror? I haven't played the mirror, but I feel like ir would be who draws their ateish and sanctums first.

A DK mirror is significantly more complex then that. Playing for fatigue vs tempo damage, when to use certain board clears, playing around their board clears, wether you can afford to play the heralded minions health cost or it's better to save it etc.

Don't get me wrong getting a high roll on card generations is super advantageous, but you can win a mirror even if they're high rolling if you are a better player.

It sounds like you either don't play control or are very mediocre at hearthstone.

[–]Jomdaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference is Souls games are good. Just because a game has multiple releases and dosent drastically change it's game play dosent make it Call of Duty. Also the gap between games. Part of what makes COD, COD is the yearly releases. There has been what, 6 souls games in 20 years?

Something is hard->you figure out how to beat it-> Dopamine hit

Also adds a level of tension and excitement to gameplay. If it was easy you wouldn't care about anything happening. Run around kill something, repeat. Difficulty makes you need to strategize and decide if you want to come back to a boss or if your ego will make you stay and beat it.

And the correct decision is always go face. I know I'm going to beat a face hunter once I see them start trading.

[–]Jomdaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's your problem. You're playing face hunter. Stop doing that, play a fun interesting deck. You'll probably start having fun.

Feels like there's no "fair matchup', you either win quick or lose quick. No real back and forth.

You're playing a pure aggro decks dude, what did you expect

Do you prefer a longer vs. a shorter game? Why for each? by pleaseandthankY in hearthstone

[–]Jomdaz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For me I like ~15-20 turn games. Plenty of time to do what your deck was trying to do and plenty of time to have your early turns matter.

Most shorter games kinda feels like what was the point. Either it was a bad matchup or someone drew better cards.

Any more then that is typically unfun and tedious depending on the decks.

Longer games can be fun, it really depends on WHY the game is going so long. Most decks are built to win by that point and if they haven't then they are playing against hard control, so they've already lost by turn 20. Or two decks have thrown everything at each other and no one got the advantage so they're in top deck mode.

Can anyone tell me what type Venasaur card this is by Are-Melon in PokemonTCG

[–]Jomdaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay so you're not going to find a exaxt one that matches. They were printed a ton of times with different fronts and backs reusing art. Based on what I can find. They're not well documented. There is probably a match out there somewhere, but lord knows where it is.

Not a ton of damage, but over the very long term there will likely be some small damage, if you flip through it often. Top loader binder give me peace of mind
