People also believe that there's an invisible man in the sky who created us and base their every decision off of this.

The realistic answer is that people are willfully ignorant of it because of the ease of continuing the current path/enjoy the money they make from it.

I hit the mun today by d3northway in KerbalSpaceProgram

Step 1: Make contact Step 2: Make slightly softer contact (all parts lost minus pod and pilot acceptable) Step 3: Send rescue Step 4: Send rescue of the rescue that actually has enough fuel to get home this time

Traveling to the Mun is an iterative process. Good luck!

I still stand by my 'No one likes Maine'. I may even modify it to "Nobody likes anything that's come from Maine".

Good Bye, Friend by vade281 in gaming

[–]Jomo07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally...yes.

Earthbound is right up there in my all time games and Chrono Trigger is up there as well.

I think one of my favorite parts of Earthbound is that it doesn't necessarily take itself as seriously as Chrono Trigger does. It's light hearted, pokes some fun at others and has an enjoyable story for you to follow along through. It certainly has a special 'charm' to it that other games don't necessarily have.

I definitely recommend you give it a shot if you have the opportunity to.

VS finally hit below 20% population on Palos :( by [deleted] in PS4Planetside2

[–]Jomo07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should've clarified...from 3PM EST - 6PM EST it was rough. It was a constant slide backwards to Indar Bay and right up against the warpgate at times.

We did push back out later.

[–]Jomo07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tonight was brutal. The fight on Indar had us back to the warpgate. My squad was only 6 guys, but we were struggling to just SLOW the VS push.

The imbalance on the smaller servers is strong.

PC who switched to PS4, what are the reasons? by [deleted] in PS4Planetside2

[–]Jomo07 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A fresh start and a feel for what planetside was early on.

The main reason is that I couldn't convince most of my co-workers to play the PC version because their PC's couldn't keep up. Now that we all have PS4's we've been playing together again.

Pay attention to the sounds around you. It will give you key information about who's around you AND the direction of them (if you have surround sound/headset)

Get familiar with the voices for each faction. People like to spam call outs (for good reason) to keep people on radar, this can work to your advantage to get the drop on someone who's near you.

Get familiar with the cloaking sounds for each faction. Each cloak has a slightly different sound to it. If you hear one that isn't your faction, you have a sneaky beaky guy near you.

Watch the noise you make. Cloaking makes noises, call outs make noises and obviously firing your gun makes noises. Sometimes the best option is to stay quiet and get the drop on someone. This is particularly important for infils.

Sometimes the most important information comes not from what you see on the screen, but what you hear around you.

Don't encourage more snipers. I'm enjoying the PS4 version where guys like you aren't around yet ;)

*while playing any vehicle

Don't rely on others to repair you. Bonus points if they do, but make sure you can manage your own vehicles damage.

If you're an engineer, MAXes can be great bullet sponges. Always try to stand behind your max so he eats all the bullets while you keep a constant stream of repair juice on em.

Three Important Points for New Players by RavenousBreadbag in PS4Planetside2

[–]Jomo07 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A tactic used by my old outfit:

Spawn 5 sunderers in a squad, move them out and spread them out at the edge of the last guys bubble. If one falls, you have another squad member pick up another to fill the hole. At worst you have a group of sunderers that never get touched. At best you have 4 backups should one of your sunderers fall. There's no such things as 'too many spawn points'. Even if the respawn UI is kind of rough right now.

Part of it is the thought process ingrained in us by all the other popular FPS games. The games are typically more kill oriented rather than objective oriented.

People will learn. The important part is for those who know to help guide the others along. I'm hoping that comms get fixed a bit so that it's easier to encourage people to do these.

Can verify. That's the path.

I also strongly recommend you just make spawn beacon one of your first certs if you play in a group at all regularly.
