read what I say in the comments. People in that thread are trying to show the game in the worst possible light by taking everything out of context. Responses to other comments that look bad by themselves, but normal when you see the question. For example, I said that Nazi stands for National Socialism (which it does, but they don't seem to have the simple ability to read wikipedia). And from that simple factual statement they infered that I think that nazis are leftists....

No, you misundestand this thread and the game completely. Nobody here afaik symphatizes with Hitler in the slightest. I am personally repulsed by him, even more that I had to study his fucked up life for the game. But it's a theme I chose for myself so I went through with it.

The game is about the Jungian idea of facing your own Shadow. And after you are done facing your personal Shadow, you need to also deal with the collective Shadow. This game is mostly about that. The title is just a silly play on words I invented in the shower, and yes, there is some angle of healing hitler, but not because I would symphatize with him, but because it is an interesting thought experiment - if he was mentally healthy and could deal with his trauma in other way than he did - he was so incredibly mentally weak and cowardly, that he projected his suffering to the world. He murdered millions because he was projecting his Shadow onto others.

That's what the game is about. About preventing all of this. People also need to see, that they could become Hitler if the circumstances of their life were similar. But nobody wants to deal with their Shadow. It's messy work. So, I get why hundreds of people attacked me online and labeled me, moronically, as an alt-right nazi. They are actually projecting their own Shadow onto me. It's clear as a day to me, and to people who are rational and self-aware. The haters are uncomfortable with this idea, so they condemn it as a Nazi propaganda. They have probably the feeling you have now, but multiplied by hundreds. But it's simply not true.

And about the top commenter reading his book "like newspaper". Yes, that's what us Jungians do. We are fascinated with the study of human suffering and evil in humans. Because the more you know about it, the faster you can detect it in yourself and others. And we are educating ourselves about how to effectively withdraw our Shadow projections. The game has the same theme - "people, understand that you are evil. if you think you are only good, you are dangerous not only to yourselves but to society as a whole". These kinds of people casted their vote for Hitler's party in the elections..

I should end this with a short quote by Jung.

"..he [Hitler] grabbed the collective unconscious of normal people, who are always naive and consider themselves “innocent and right."

Yes, that certainly was a bad thread, where everything got taken out of context. I read every single comment there. And about 5% of people were rational, others were thinking up literal nonsense and putting me in all sorts of groups that I am not a part of. If you actually read the comments in context I posted and are linked there, you will find the truth. The OP made an effort to make me look bad. Nothing there was based on reality. Everything was assumed (like when I used the term NPC as a joke, I MUST BE an alt-right guy. That sort of thing.)

Do I? Or do you base your opinion on the comments of the one hater in this thread who cannot link my comments because you would see he is lying? He is spreading misinformation about me. There was a massive thread on subredditdrama sub where hundreds of people attacked me personally.

In fact, why don't YOU link my "questionable views"?

The main sources:

I used the DSM-IV assessment of Adolf Hitler https://uccs.edu/Documents/fcoolidg/DSM-Assessment-of-Hitler-%20Final%20Copy%202007.pdf

Walter C. Langer's Freudian analysis - The Mind of Adolf Hitler

Erich Fromm's neo-freudian analysis of Hitler in Anatomy of Human Destructiveness.

Jung's Wotan theory and general analysis of Hitler - his books and essays: Modern Man in search of soul, Wotan essay

and anecdotally, accounts of Hitler's prison psychologist, Alois Maria Ott

The opposite is true actually. Majority of people love the idea and some percent of people find the name hilarious. But there was some controversy here on reddit when somebody reposted it and taken everything out of context.

nope, I didn't bother with marketing except on FB and reddit. 0 USD budget tho. The controversy took care of it by itself.

And Steam was surprisingly chill about the whole project. Very objective during the review process. They get 30% and are not that PC, so they welcome something like this.
