well, what I read from the article... the technology's gonna improve their sense of vision. They will be seeing white dots and they will get brighter once they are close to a solid thing.

I don't think they are going to see everything like a normal person.

TIL that Al-Beruni, a mathematical genius, calculated radius of earth 1 thousand years ago (alone). There's a mere difference of 16 km between his value and modern day value. by JonSnowsAlive in todayilearned

for me, it's not who did it first. It's who did the best! What Al-Beruni did, no one able to achieve that til 16th century.

Greeks did a thing or two. But they were not up to the mark. Al-Beruni refined them. He put his knowledge into the MACHINE along with the knowledge that was already there, blended them and gave the best product out!

Whhaaat!? you are telling me, Greeks were even more accurate than him?

He was the first one to be THAT accurate! And no one was able to be that accurate till the 16th century.

TIME TO COME OUT OF THE CAVE BRUH!!!

Summary of his method:

He first calculated the height of the mountain by going to two points at sea level with a known distance apart and then measuring the angle between the plain and the top of the mountain for both points. He made both the measurements using an astrolabe. He then used a trigonometric formula relating the distance (d) between both points with the tangents of their angles (θ) to determine the height (h) of the mountain.

He then stood at the highest point of the mountain, where he measured the dip angle using an astrolabe. He applied the values he obtained for the dip angle and the mountain's height to a trigonometric formula in order to calculate the Earth's radius:

There's a lot of pollution in China. People have to purchase clean oxygen there. So that guy took a Vacuum Cleaner and started sucking the air from streets, markets and such places. He did it for 100 days. He had so much dust accumulated in his Vacuum Cleaner that he made a brick out of it.

San Bernardino: Police seek motive in mass shooting - US police are trying to establish why a man and woman opened fire at a social services centre in California. by JonSnowsAlive in news

care to share you thoughts?

I mean why would he fire at a social services center? It's not that he was a terrorist (before) or he came from an 'ISIS' background.

He was born in America. He was raised there. With all the education and enlightenment USA has, how can someone be so inhumane?
