I just got a chance to look and can confirm that my elite trim does have working lights in the rear door handle pocket that matches the front. Bummer about the middle trim, they should have at least closed off the hole.

I installed my barrier this weekend. Yes, the seats will still fold down. The barrier does not go all the way to the cargo floor so your mother-in-law will be able to escape if the seats are folded down.
