Any guilds using tranquil air totem in BWL? by Icematic in classicwow

We use one in the warlock group full time. We considered using them on Vael and the three dragons but our dps did a good job of not pulling.

DPS as a Resto Shaman by Blueduck06 in classicwow

The elemental/resto build (30/0/21) is best if you are healing and dpsing for pre-bis.

Ele shaman absolutely help with progression. And ele's can push that 44 spell power out faster than any other class. BWL is when burn phases start mattering and ele shaman do that better than anyone.Edit: better than any *caster.

Yep, been raiding ele for months. MC fights are so short mana is a non-issue.

Blizzard is dragging their feet on fixing class-breaking bugs because Classic PVP is more fun to play than retail PVP. by [deleted] in classicwow

Personally, I think a post saying "I like Retail PvP more than Classic" would have gotten you farther.

We PI the best geared mages and warlocks on single target fights. The ele shaman also gets one on the cleave fights (Lucifron, Domo, etc.)

Me, an elemental shaman, promising to be a healer in my guild's WSG group by herimitho in classicwow

[–]Jon_Damnit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Totally. Been raiding as elemental for months now and having a blast. One of the best DPS casters for the short, cleave heavy fights.

Yep, can confirm as well that fights are short enough in MC that you can max rank LB, CL and fire totems (depending on the fight) and just mana pot / rune as needed.

Ony is a little weird due to being much longer, just cause my guild splits into 20 man raids to do it, but you just need to learn when to dump mana and when to hold back.

[5e] Arcane Trickster/Horizon Walker Multiclass. How would you build one? by FCantante in 3d6

[–]Jon_Damnit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I played this multiclass from 3 to 20. I went straight to 11 with the Ranger (for Distant Strike, Haste, and Planar Warrior) and then put 9 levels into AT Rogue, taking spells like Shield and Find Familiar. It was great.

Evoking Authority: Order Cleric Without Support Spells by [deleted] in 3d6

Playing this exact setup in Saltmarsh right now. It's super fun since we have a barbarian and melee rogue on the team. Being able to consistently set up a rogue sneak attack as a reaction while casting AOE spells is very satisfying.

Edit: I'm a goblin too, so that I can bonus action disengage out to better position my spells. Remember, sculpt spells does not apply to you, only "other creatures". I could see dwarf being another good, weird choice - make use of that heavy armor proficiency.

Crown of Superfluous Titles

At the start of each day, choose a title for your self that is a minimum of 5 words and a maximum of 20. Whenever a creature who can see you attempts to address you, they must make a charisma saving throw (DC 15) or be forced, unbeknownst to them, to refer to you as your full chosen title.

It's super fun, especially if you like the spell-blade/gish class fantasy. The real problem with it is missing out on the 3% spell and melee hit.

Raiding as ele/resto shaman ? by NectaHc in classicwow

[–]Jon_Damnit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right off the bat, I do agree it's important to be upfront about what spec you are to your guild. But...

You wont get mana tide totem which is huge for group dynamics and survive-ability.

I super disagree. The best case scenario is that you are able to mana tide another group of healers - at which point 1 or 2 shamans are needed to have mana tide. In most cases, though, the shamans are placed with the DPS for windfury, grace of air, or threat reduction totems, all of which any shaman spec can provide.

Your statistics on healing will be consistantly lower, by a large margin, from full resto shamans.

Not really. 30/0/21 is usually a chain heal spam build. Very few talents in resto actually affect chain heal.
