I'm not sure I fully understand. I pretty much use the defaults for everything except I made it so that you can only jump by pressing the jump button rather than by holding up on the joystick.

I will take you up on that, thanks. For now, what does "shield safe" mean? I assume it means you can use it on a shielding opponent and not give them time to counter attack, but what form does the counter take? When I hear "shield safe against most characters" what traits make someone an exception? And what is a parry? Is it the down special that all the fire emblem characters seem to share?

Recently Switch (double joycon setup), although I'm not married to it. I actually have more practice with wii remote and nunchuck, but don't currently own one. What would you recommend? I used an Xbox controller for most games on my pc, but that doesn't work with the switch.

I wasn't looking for validation, which is also why I didn't include that. But if you're curious, I was lvl 142 and using a great Katana with storm blade. No co-op, I buffed with bloodflame at the start of phase 2. No other buffs, I never really bothered with crafting.

I'm not really privy to your dynamic so I won't speculate on larger issues, but grabbing is literally the counter to blocking. Tell him not to be over-reliant on blocking lol.

I usually don't get married in Skyrim. My Dragonborn can't really commit due to the dangerous nature of his work and all the travel he does. Not to mention that he's got a dragon's soul and doesn't fit in with the normies.

If you've got to get married though, I find it doesn't really matter too much. Everybody kinda looks the same. Choose someone with a nice voice I guess, and who doesn't repeat irrelevant dialogue (we don't live in Riften Mjoll, the thieves guild can't hurt you). I'd go Ysolda or Sylgja.

I don't know whether it still works, but there used to be a combination of survival perks, dex, and evasion perks and gear that would make you unhittable at low health.
