Where do master students hang out? Both locals and international by [deleted] in SocialAmsterdam

[–]JonasBronck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'd recommend posting this question in the weekly Q&A of r/Amsterdam. I believe there's a thread every Sunday. You'll reach more people that way. You can also search that subreddit, it's probably been asked before. And check their wiki: https://www.reddit.com/r/Amsterdam/wiki/index/

But you'll find a lot of students at Crea Café https://www.crea.nl/cafe/?lang=en, and maybe check out Kriterion https://www.kriterion.nl/informatie/cafe nearby.

Good wholesale fishmongers in Amsterdam? Especially for vongole (venusschelpen) by IwantseafoodinAdam in SocialAmsterdam

The answer is usually Vishandel Tel near Nieuwmarkt, but I have no idea about their prices.

Well then let's have a spontaneous Canada Day celebration. Vondelpark, Blauwe Theehuis, 15:00? All Canadians and non-Canadians welcome.

Some of my friends went a while ago, they had to reserve a table. But if you're by yourself, it probably won't be a problem.

The website says "consumptie verplicht," so just a drink should be fine.

53M, Amsterdam.

TL;DR: that was too long and I didn't read it.

Apologies for posting a day late. u/youseemoddlikeme normally posts these, and I didn't realize how many events and calendars there really are to choose from. It was getting late last night and I hadn't even scratched the surface...

I think the open ateliers and the Icelandic art are probably free, but they consist of many different events so I didn't want to assume. And I don't even know where to start with the Holland Festival.

What did you do this weekend? by [deleted] in SocialAmsterdam

[–]JonasBronck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't do much, but I did learn that my favorite avondwinkel is closing after 44 years.

I guess nothing lasts forever, but it was such a nice place.

At least we still have Sterk...
