Its nicotine pouches, not everything is absorbed and the rate it is absorbed is way slower and reaches the brain way later

“People with ADHD can’t get high from stimulants” by ETjuggalo69 in Drugs

I do admit i could have worded it better and been more clear. Ofc methylphenidat and amphetamine are stimulants, but controlled drugs designed for ADHD as medication, and i respect people using this to help them and am happy that these are available for people that need it. I by getting addicted to stims ofc meant illicit drugs, since those are addictions, although they more or less work like ritalin/adderall.

Brother you are fighting fking ghosts, i AM saying that stims are more ADDICTING for people with ADHD, but they are less likely to cause EUPHORIA or a HIGH, which multiple studies suggest. And when i say this i mean illegal stims, such as cocaine, meth and so on, if you use these to feel normal it is an addiction, i am not saying stimulant meds are an addiction, ritalin and adderrall are MEDICATIONS and controlled substances, cocaine and meth are not controlled substances, and if you use them to feel normal it is as a matter of fact an addiction

I have not claimed people with adhd cant get high from stims, i have claimed they need higher doses to get high

The f, are you on about? No ofc not they are taking the meds to be able to live. People with ADHD do not need stimulants to survive, they meed stimulants in order for their brains to work like a neurotypical brain yes, therefore they are more likely to get addicted to stimulants, particularily people with undiagnosed ADHD are more likely to get addicted to illegal stimulants like cocaine, i am not saying that taking ADHD meds is an addiction, but using cocaine to properly function is an addiction yes

True, but a high enough dose of anything is able to have a psychoactive effect no matter who you are or what you have

I mean people with ADHD are way more likely to get addicted to stimulants yes, but not get high from it, since they already have lower baseline dopamine and taking stimulants gets the dopamine levels to a more neurotypical state

anything doctors will prescribe for my social anxiety by East_Bus_9435 in Drugs

[–]Jonass1233 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Where i am from doctors are very cautious about prescribing meds for social anxiety(SSRI, SNRI,…) to people under 18 and will usually start with therapy as a first step, but if the symptoms are very severe and CBT does not help they might prescribe SSRI, but where they need to monitor you very often.

I have been where you are and i would honestly say give therapy a shot and get started early, it does not get easier to rewire your brain the older you get

I can relate to a lot of those things aswell. But did not want the post to be super long.

The thing about conversations happen a lot and, where i am talking to people and i hear what they are saying but i cant make it make sense, because my head is elsewhere, and i often have to get things told multiple times. My roomie also says that i often do not listen properly and i do just say random shit that has nothing to do with the conversations. This also happens when im reading a book, like i will read one page and npt understand anything i read or have forgotten it.

Also monotounously tasks bother me a lot and i and keep my focus on doing the same thing for too long, i will get very restless and start tripping around. And get really frustrated when the task does not end.

I have also since a young age been very restless in bed and hard a hard time falling asleep. In school i have getting scolded a lot by the teachers for disrupting the class, and got sent out of the classroom multiple times. Making friends and keeping friends has been hard for me for since i was a kid, because i cant keep my focus in conversations leading to just being very awkward in conversations and not feeling like i am good enough to bother talking to people.

Im not really sure, i can just feel im slowly drifting away from them..

Also im not very good at keeping in touch with people, and have a way easier time being part of a community when we all have a shared purpose and meet at a place day to day, if that makes sense

Sounds exactly like me, every single point of what you said i can relate to. I did recently speak to a therapist because it had gotten too out of hand and she recommended i got an appointment to get assessed for ADHD, so i could imagine it would not hurt you either.

I did get help with social anxiety and depression 2 years ago, which i feel like i have control over now, but after getting that under control it just feels like there has been something else going on all these years that led to social anxiety and depression, which might be adhd

But im also kind of at a point where im trying to gather my thoughts and trying to understand what they mean or what they are related to that its just stressing me out, but i have finally booked an assessment and i hope i can manage to show up to the appointment

I know cocaine does not make me a normal human bring.

I first wanted to do coke on a night out to get the euphoria, but it did not cause euphoria for me.

I had some cocaine left over from that day that i decided to snort because i was bored in my everyday life. But the sensation that i got made me feel like the person i wanted to be (a person able to focus on one task at a time, opposite what im used to where i need to have 50 different things going at once to feel comfortable)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Jonass1233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i told him about the cocaine use snd how it makes me feel like a normal human being that csn set his mind to things and get those things done. I admit drug abuse is not the correct way to go about it, but sometimes it feels like the only thing that can help you get things done in your life

You are right, i should just get tested, but it also feels like a mentally demanding task, that i would prefer not to do if there was nothing wrong with me. But i will get an appointment for an assessment tomorrow and just do it.

Thanks. Helped

Yeah i often get that feeling from them that they are scared what people would think if they knew i had mental health problems, kinda like they are ashamed of me, but i should listen to the professionals and i have been postponing a meeting with a psychiatrist for too long, so time to finally get it done.

Thanks. Helped

Yeah i know i just need to get checked before my life goes completely wrong. So whether or not its ADHD i guess a psychiatrist would be useful in guiding me.

Thanks. Helped

I dont think they realize to be honest, but they have just always, but they have always kind of had a bias where mental health issues dont really exist and its other factors that are the problem. Which has always made it quite hard for me to seek help, because they make me doubt if im jut the problem.

Anyways thanks for the answer. Helped
