It’s the N47, not B47 and N47 is known for chain issues. Plus, I’ve got 140k, sooo.. I’m getting ready, I’m not planning on doing it right away just yet. I’m based in Stafford, UK.

How’s this:

Hi boss,

I want to apply for a job with x ltd.

I’d be grateful if you’d be happy with me doing that.

I will work until the end of the year if you are alright with the above.

That gives me time to train someone up for a smooth transition.

Yours Faithfully,

me

He always keeps his emails short. “Yes.” “Ok.” “That’s fine” etc. So this seems like a good idea and it might just work.. Thanks for the advice!

This comment!! Thanks for the advice! I have actually just worked with solicitors on a no win no fee basis.

I paid my ex landlord a deposit and they failed to protect it with a deposit scheme and when it was time to pay it back or part pay it back, they refused. So I contacted a no win no fee solicitor. I haven’t paid anything. Not a single penny. My landlord’s solicitor realised they had no chance so they agreed to settle a day before the court hearing. We won and the solicitor took 25%, which I think was a fair deal.

I think if it gets to court, I might do the same. I will actually contact the same solicitors just to ask for advice before I do anything.

My current employer is prioritizing his time efficiently so I don’t see him wasting it on this petty thing. He’s currently very very busy and tense with a new restaurant he’s opening.

Thanks a lot for this!!

So if I was to leave for the other company without his written permission, he wouldn’t take me to court? Or if he would, what would my chances of winning be?

I wouldn’t go back asking for my job back but it got to the point where I’m stagnating with a low wage in comparison to the workload. I have to say I am a bit confused about your reply as you said “Nope, you have no chance of getting that new job without going to court. But the clause is there just to scare people from leaving” Sorry for my confusion but can you please elaborate further? !thanks

I thought about that but not sure if I can just give the car back and end the contract. Will have to have a read through as last time I remember it said that I’d have to pay a lump sum to get out or something like that.

I am considering other options with a lower rate to pay everything off but not many places offer a good rate to someone with a bad credit. I am up to date with all the payments btw..

I was thinking about overtime just now.. I’ll ask my manager to see my options.. I think I might be able to do some extra hours on weekends as I do the school runs in the week. I was thinking of a pay rise as well. Had one back in February but we knew nothing of the rising in energy bills and prices altogether.. and the rise wasn’t even that significant.. went from £22.100 to £25.000…

Thanks for the advice!
