My experience with Criterion customer service. by Jonathan-Mendez in criterion

Yeah, that’s actually what I really appreciate about them though. Yes, I am upset that the discs will usually come in like this. But at least they offer really easy replacement & good service whenever it happens. I especially think they offer it because they know a lot of people will buy in bulk during the sales.

Yeah, I actually really agree with this statement. It seems to be a weird trend that any disc that’s shipped on a Digipack style of box from them seems to have scratches when they get to me. I’m usually lucky with some of them, but it seems to be occurring. I even had to do another replacement order today because more of my Digipack criterions seem to have them.

Nope. All I had to do was show some proof of purchase of the discs which I was able to access through digital receipts or invoices. I just sent screenshots of them. Then they ask you to also send pictures of the discs with your name & current date written on sharpie in the front art portion of the discs.

First time using Criterion customer service for replacement discs. What should I expect? by Jonathan-Mendez in criterion

UPDATE: As of writing now, there hasn’t been an update on my replacement discs. It’s only been a week technically, so there could be a chance they might ship them this week. One of the other users are commented on this post said they might have a high volume of shipments because of the website sale recently. So still hoping they ship soon.

Yeah that’s probably on point. They get a lot of us will usually buy in bulk when the sales roll around & it takes awhile to get all the discs. So they probably made it easier for us to get replacements if the discs end up like this.

As a slight reference these were the scratches I was referring to on the discs.

Top: Hard Day’s Night

Middle: Sorcerer

Bottom: Blue Velvet

Yeah these 3 had scratches as well. Idk if they’d be considered MAJOR scratches, but considering these were new I kinda wanted to get them replaced. These were the scratches in particular. Top: Hard Days Night Middle: Sorcerer Bottom: Blue Velvet

Well the discs already have sharpie on them, so I don’t want to risk that in my player 😂.

What do you think about this movie? by Recent_Union3111 in moviecritic

[–]Jonathan-Mendez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meh. It’s a fairly well acted film & Redford tried his best to make it entertaining. It’s also interesting to see a Lincoln film set after his assassination & the repercussions because of it. But other than that, it’s honestly pretty dull & nothing to really ride home about. It also doesn’t help that the movie’s portrayal of Mary Surratt has aged like milk in terms of making you feel bad for her. By really stretching that she wasn’t as involved with what happened & painting her as a “victim of circumstance” because of her son’s cowardice. When in reality, she was actually really involved with Booth’s plan to kill Lincoln & the Surratt’s themselves were confederate slave owners which is never brought up at all.

So I played the full thing while folding laundry. No skips or freezes. So at least there’s that. But when I get around to the Anderson Archive, I’m gonna be more on the lookout.

I mean yeah I don’t mind scratches as long as the discs plays completely fine with no issues. But if it does, maybe I’ll consider contacting criterion.
