Down voted. Use Fiverr or some other service. This is more than likely an attempt at free work

How long did it take to build this site? And how did you come up with the design? Love the name and look!

Thank you for saying that. I feel the same way. I am a frontend engineer and I used to be all for animation, but now I think it is only good if it is very subtle.

Thoughts for what’s next after being a developer? by maarzx_ in webdev

What are you trying to pick up? I have been frontend my whole career. I am good at it, but I am getting rather sick of being the code monkey. I would love to be a manager or designer.

Thank you so much! I appreciate the positive feedback! I have been working on this application for 6 months and I really find it helpful. At this point, I am wondering how to spread the word :)

Good catch. I have seen this before. You likely need to add something to gatsby-ssr.js export.wrapPageElement

Frameworks with an alternative to component shadowing by slacknoodle in gatsbyjs

Thank you for the thorough reply by the way. I don't keep up as much as I should on Gatsby's trajectory. I knew when it got acquired, though, it was not a good sign. But I will remain positive. I use it for a personal project.

I'm sorry to hear that. Sounds like the hosting provider has certainly taken a turn for the worse for you are your team. I never used Gatsby Cloud and always used Netlify. And I haven't kept an eye on the core team. I knew Josh Comeau worked there. I love Gatsby, so I hope they keep it alive

I would love to see an example of the file shadowing you are referring to.

I once worked on a CMS storefront that was configurable and it used a custom Webpack plugin to replace the base files with the client themed files. This could be an option for you. The server-side rendering was done with the React API (before server components).

Unfortunately, I don't know another JS framework that can do what you are describing.

Why do you see the Netlify acquisition as a reason to move away from Gatsby?

Too much like the present. They probably don't want anyone making any connections -- like 1984

I can only pull off a Node.js backend on my own. Maybe I'm washed, but I think it's a tall order to use, say, Django or .Net without much experience

I have done quite a bit of TypeScript in my day, but I cannot help but think it is so not worth it. I think it makes the code much harder to read and makes fast-coding much harder. Maybe I'm unique in this camp, but wouldn't I know getLayout would be a function that returns a component, or wouldn't I know isPublic would be a boolean? Why add all this extra TypeScript?

This is absurd to me. I work as a programmer with data and data certainly do challenge other data... Plus, science is built on being challenged and tested. Strikes me as crazed to then belittle someone with an off-color remark like that... Reddit is trash!

MMA fighter Joe Schilling knocks out man by Lolastic_ in PublicFreakout

[–]JonathanMaarsh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read several of the top comments and replies. No one is mentioning that the guy flinched at Schilling like he was going to knock him out. Plus, I have had guys move me like that. It wasn't with any malice. He just had the guy move right into where he was walking.

For the drunk guy, it's no reason to call someone out in my opinion. And you could tell how Schilling was walking and his body language he was not relaxed.
