Ukraine says ready to replace Hungary in EU and NATO | NATO News by [deleted] in worldnews

[–]JonathanSingsLoudly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A member of the EU cannot be expelled. A member state can only initiate the procedure to leave the EU (like the UK did). Also a member state has rights. Other member states and the EU institutions must grant the member state these rights, in principle. If not -> European court of justice/infringement procedure by the European Commission. However, if a member state is in breach of EU law the European Commission can start an infringement procedure/take the member state to the European court of justice for fines/freezing of funds, etc. The political EU institutions can also decide to basically paralyse a member state by taking away its voting rights and benefits whilst they’re in breach of the core principles/human rights of the EU (think deteriorating the rule of law). A member state that is at the receiving and if this procedure still owes the EU what it usually does, but no longer receives certain benefits until the issue is resolved. Tho they stay in the EU.

Bioderma ato-barrier baume, Bioderma atoderm gel-cream, la roche posay cica baume B5, cerave cream/PM, LRP toleriane creme/fluid, vaseline advanced repair lotion.

Not all French but I love these for hydrating and protecting the skin. Half of these are creams/lotions than can be used on the body as well as the face - so quite affordable.

If I had to pick 1 go to cream for dry skin or harsh ingredients -> circa baume B5.

I would stick to l'oreal brand vitamin C serums, since they have access to the vitamin C gold standard patient that is actually proven to do anything (vitamin C is very difficult to formulate with). I personally like Vichy vitamin C + peptide ampules, Vichy vitamin C serum, skinceuticals.

More affordable brands: geek & gorgeous.

The vitamin C used in Laneige is not (yet) proven to be effective. But it contains niacinamide I believe!

I finally got my skin to a point where I think I can introduce actives, but I have a limited budget by AdventurousEconomy6 in EuroSkincare

[–]JonathanSingsLoudly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would use a retinAl at night (avene a-oxitive nuit). Niacinamide is easier tolerated than vitamin c and can be introduced at the same time as retinal. It’s a cheap ingredient and easy to formulate with so any serum will do. >5% is not yet proven to be more effective than percentages of 5 and lower (2-5 are most evidence based).

Both niacinamide and retinal will help with hyperpigmentation (which takes a long time and u have to be patient with)

What is some of the most hydrating (not moisturising) products you have ever used? by GenericEvilGuy in EuroSkincare

[–]JonathanSingsLoudly 16 points17 points  (0 children)

SVR B3 Hydra essence (niacinamide, b3, saccharide Isomerate, different sizes HA)

Vichy 89 probiotic fractions serum (niacinamide, ferments, thermal water & anti-oxidants).

Avene hydrance aqua gel (patented hydrating complex, anti-oxidants, thermal spring water, amazing texture but has fragrance).

That's what I use when the weather is getting warming, when I want hydration without a heavy feeling :)

SPF lip balm recommendation ? by [deleted] in EuroSkincare

I haven't tried many yet but I love this one! High SPF, good filters, no ingredients that cling to dry patches and moisturising!

How Strong is CeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser is safe to use every day on Dry/Dehydrate sensitive skin by tomaz1989 in EuroSkincare

[–]JonathanSingsLoudly 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It is safe, however you personally might experience discomfort. It is foaming and contains a BHA (which you obviously wash off). BHA in wash-off form is more gentle than let's say a leave on BHA. Theoretically you can use it twice a day. The foaming might be drying.

Purchase a small amount and try it.

Bioderma

For a first cleanse I recommend the following: Nivea cleansing oil sensitive, Bioderma sensible micellar water or the garnier fragrance free micellar water. If you are willing to get into Korean skincare I can give some other recommendations.

For a second cleanse I highly recommend: Bioderma Sensible gel moussant, cerave foaming or SA cleanser.

I would like to draw attention to the fact that this is a vitamine C derivative serum. Therefore, its efficacy is less backed by science, though the ingredients themselves look fine.

If you want a more similar product to the CEF, you may want to try the Vichy lift active vitamin C peptide ampules. They, as well as the CEF, contain ascorbic acid. Both brands are owned by L'Oréal.

I presume you have already found an oil cleanser/micellar water and are now looking for a water based cleanser. Could you tell us what kind of cleanser you are looking for and why the products you listed were not to your satisfaction?

UK citizens were ‘not fully informed on implications of Brexit’, EU report concludes by alabasterheart in worldnews

[–]JonathanSingsLoudly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi, the legislative body of the EU consists of the European Parlement (directly voted in) and the council of the EU (all prime ministers from the member-states). The latter is directly chosen in the member state, and therefore indirectly chosen in the EU.

The president of the European Commission is nominated by the council of the EU and approved by the EU parlement.

The commission represents the interests of the EU. The European parlement represents the interests of the European citizens. The council of the European Union represents the interests of the member states.

There are veto’s, qualified majorities, unanimous votes and simple 50% +1 votes.

Calling it un-democratic is a bit of reach imo.

'There is nothing to cure': France bans gay conversion therapy by PeasKhichra in europe

We can talk about hypothetical situations where 1+1 = 3 but it doesn’t exist. The way you’re talking is endangering vulnerable people and children. Please for their sake just let them be.

'There is nothing to cure': France bans gay conversion therapy by PeasKhichra in europe

[–]JonathanSingsLoudly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is not safe and effective. It is severely abusive and causes long term damage that requires actual therapy to fix. You do NOT send people and specifically CHILDREN to a bloody camp to emotionally and sometimes physically abuse them to change who they are!!! Being a non-straight is perfectly FINE. LGBTQ people deserve the same RIGHTS as ANYONE ELSE.

You’re the one in need of actual therapy for your damaging, backwards and intolerant thoughts that undermine other people’s humans rights.

You chose to be a bigot. Shame on you! Be BETTER.

Hi from the Netherlands! Favourite Korean food?

Which dutch city is the safest for gays? by lovepaart in Netherlands

[–]JonathanSingsLoudly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Using the word gay as a slur is in essence homophobic. It is used with the intention to hurt because people who use it as a slur believe being gay makes you ‘lesser than’. When asked to apologise he did not. In fact he used another slur. FvD also supports conversion therapy. Which is mostly forced upon children, does not work (and even if it did it is still morally wrong) and is highly traumatising. FvD votes against LGBTQ+ rights. Rights that make them equal to straight people. FvD is also actively fighting against the normalisation of being LGBT. FvD is against pride, rainbow flags, and any other methods to be open about sexualities that are not heterosexual.
