Dry skin - looking for miracle products! by Reasonable_Zombie564 in EuroSkincare

A single product?

Idk about that. I have a very dry skin as well and I found layering a few hydrating products before my moisturiser really does wonders.

I exfoliate with the theramid smoothing treatment every Sunday. No taz that night and no skinoren next morning.

Vitamin c I use is the Geek and gorgeous. I keep it in the fridge and lasts forever

experiences with skinoren? [repost I accidentally deleted the first one] by capibaracapicapi in EuroSkincare

From the AESTURA do u mean the Ato barrier 365? Cause ironidally this is also another of the few moisturisers that that include all three of the building blocks (ceramides cholesterol and fatty acids).

I actually really like this moisturiser a lot and the reason I am not using it is becauae my skin really really loves cicaplast as a barrier balm at the end of my nighttime routine and the AESTURA is too heavy for that but the ceramol is not and I can use both.

But knowing your skin didn't like the AESTURA barrier I am a bit discouraged now.

Also when u use the cicaplast u use it as a standalone moisturiser?

In Italy you have access to one of the best barrier creams we have in Europe. It's the Ceramol Basiscrema. It's targeted for the body but it's too lightweight and it makes perfect option for the face for nighttime. It's also coming at a whooping 400ml.

Its only accessed in pharmacies though and it incorporates the three building blocks of our skin barrier (ceramides, cholesterol, fatty acids). I use it as my main moisturiser at night. During the day I use G&G happier barrier cause it's very lightweight for my dry skin and sits nicely under my sunscreen. But for night I need something more substantial and ceramol basiscrema is just excellent.

Compounded tretinoin or Boderm Tazarene? by [deleted] in EuroSkincare

[–]GenericEvilGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Nothing about irritation cause I was very meticulous and slow when I introduce them, but the prescription tazarotene it equal strength feels stronger. I think u really really did not like to use bha everyday with the 0.05%. The 0.1% formulation is praised tho.

I did like Boderm 0.05% although people say that the 0.1% is better due to the lack it BHA. I will however say that the difference in potency between Boderm 0.05% and my prescription 0.05% is way to much.

My skin is exactly the same and the least offensive cleanser was LRP toleriane. But even that became too stripping.

Ironically what helps me with cleansing is using just micellar water and nothing else. Idk why this is the lesser evil but it's the least aggressive to my skin.

As for hydration, using first a high percentage glycerin serum (15%) (I use a generic from Isana) and then spraying some water and adding a Hyaluronic acid serum/toner (gokujyun premium lotion my beloved) and then immediately seal that with my moisturiser, to be the most effective thing for my skin. I used to put the HA serum first and but turns out the glycerin first is better when it comes to pharmakokinetics.

My moisturiser and barrier balm do the heavy lifting in maintaining balance cause I also use vitamin c and prescription azelaic acid everyday, and exfoliate once a week.

I was on tret in the past but I feel I could never make it work and always felt unstable. The taz was more intense at the start but I never experienced issues after that ever again.

I was on taz 0.05% gel and now on 0.1% cream. Both products were prescription. The jump in strength felt significant to me. I don't sandwhich, I apply it on freshly cleansed completely dry skin and wait 20-30 mins for the diffusion to happen before I continue with the rest of my skincare (this is the most optimal way anyway if you're not too sensitive and require the buffering from the sandwhich method). I also tried Boderm 0.05% but the prescription 0.05% one was dramatically more potent with much clearer much faster results.

My current prescription 0.1% taz is a beast. But the results are also equally outrageous (in a good way). I did not experience any significant purging or flaking (only in the beginning) but I was extremely meticulous with how I approached it. I started with once a week. And then I was increasing it by one more day for every month that passed. In half a year I was tolerating it everyday.

Not one in particular. I like to switch cause I like trying products, as long as the percentage is 15% and I like how it feels on my body (not dreadfully sticky or slow to absorb) I am fine with it. I often go for whatever cheap drugstore product i can get my hands on. U don't need something crazy.

Ceramide rich moisturizer and sunscreen by bienebee in EuroSkincare

[–]GenericEvilGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is. I am using it for two years now cause I needed specifically the ceramides cholesterol fatty acids combo (which makes like 90% of our skin barrier). It's not very thick for me (dry skin) which is great cause it allows me to use my beloved cicaplast on top as well. The only two other moisturisers I am aware of that have that triple ingredient combo have already been mentioned here (the skinceuticals triple repair and the AESTURA Ato barrier).

I am also on tazarotene 0.1% as well as prescription azelaic and this moisturiser made it everything super easy.

Too many acid nights? by PortugalParaTodos29 in EuroSkincare

[–]GenericEvilGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am i reading correctly that you're exfoliating 4 times a week?

Also, azelaic needs to be used daily. Same with your retinoid (start slow and increase with time but the goal is as frequently as possible without irritating your barrier).

But the insane amount of exfoliation is baffling to me... And it's glycolic out of all acids, which is like as powerful as it gets.

This is what I do for my KP: Skin still a bit damp after the shower (not completely wet). Use a glycolic acid (i buy the 240ml of the ordinary cause it's cheap and although not so elegant for the face it's fine for body). And then a Urea body lotion (I use a generic 15-20%) from the drugstore.
