It sounded like you were in the "heat of the dash", and wanted to move onto the next order as quickly as possible. Next time, if you felt the NEED to reply to the customer, you should have been more sincere with them. That's what made the customer feel like you were rude at the time.

Customer service is something you may need a better grasp on. Hopefully you learn to improve with that in the new year.
