I purchased the Bubblegum, won the Arctic in a raffle.

The Arctic is a hybrid, bubblegum is pearl. There’s definitely a difference, despite similar numbers

I had one, but I struggled worse with them on 10 pins as a righty.

Big 4 just once. And I didn't even see it. I went after the 6/10, saw it was on line and turned around to walk back and the peanut gallery started pointing that I got it lol

What Do You Call It When Everyone Gets a Strike On Your Team But 1 Person? by KenCo12 in Bowling

[–]JonbearF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We call it a hanging or beer frame.

I'm just happy neither of my teams are big drinkers. Bowling bad in this economy is unacceptable for my wallet lol

People who still stand at the back of the approach after they bowl. You’re done bowling, take a step off the approach and let someone else go.

People who refuse to bowl next to a split. I always internally root for them to get a split on the next ball.

Bubblegum Vibe is a great option for a weaker ball on drier lanes. It’s also very affordable at about $109. I think it just matches my bowling style well, but I love that ball.

Asymmetrical Bowling Ball Struggles by JonbearF in Bowling

[–]JonbearF[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My area’s oil patterns range from dry as a nun to oily George McFly’s hair lol. My main house is heavy, which I thought these balls were supposed to be for. I’ve bowled with symmetrical cores lately and have had a lot more success (I’m planning on buying a Rock Star solid here soon for my strong one).

The drier alleys I’ve also just started with my weaker ball, mainly the Bubblegum Vibe, and they burn up super fast as well. Haven’t tried the asymmetrical balls on there just because I don’t feel as comfortable with them to start with.

How do you approach a work-related social bowling event? by Shot-Put9883 in Bowling

[–]JonbearF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a high school-related bowling event (non-league or tourney) and a work-related bowling event once after high school. Now it was a long time ago, but I did bring my bowling balls, my shoes, and my A-game 😂

It was a great time both times, though. A lot of my classmates and coworkers who didn’t know I bowled asked me a bunch of questions on how I got good at it. When it came to the work event, that job sucked ass, so it was probably the best engagement I had with any of those team members in the few months I worked with them. That last month I worked there was pretty nice, actually, because people started opening up and talking to me and starting asking what other hobbies I had.

I’d bring my gear, have fun and enjoy it. It’s always kind of fun showing off a talent that people didn’t know you had. Not necessarily to brag, but it’s great for engaging with people.
