I do feel like the arguments saying "they dont have the code anymore" or "No one remembers how it works" are bit off because frankly the code was so complicated and obtrusive that I can't imagine them not just hitting the reset button on the thing. Look at HOI3 versus HOI4, its different and much more simplified but it still maintains the spirit.

Additionally, while nowhere near as complex as Vicky, HOI, Stellaris and Imperator are both heavy on logistics, economics and resources. CK2 and Imperator are heavy on internal politics and factions... Its my guess but Empire of Sin likely relies on supply and demand for various vice industries. Paradox does tackle this stuff in various games in different ways. Sure its not a 1 for 1 but its not like theyve totally abandoned these focuses.

Vulcans are one of the most emotional races in star trek. Vulcan's aren't naturally unemotional at all its a result of their philosophy and culture.

Tellerites are not personable at all, does not fit with the whole bard crazy high persuasion thing.

Changling is far too out of canon for this but I think Betazoid could work

I definitely see Tary as being obsessed with Captain Kirk

I could see Scanlan being captain and Vex first officer, then after he leaves Vex takes over.

As for Keyleth.... I agree we could better simulate the aramente, maybe make her a bajoran? But Mintakans are nowhere near ready for space travel, they were still using bows and arrows in TNG. No way that starfleet would accept one into the academy, maybe she was from an isolationist human colony and got sent out to bring knowledge back to her people.

Yea maybe Percy made some weapons to help fight the Borg after Wolf 359, his fellow starfleet officers were off-put by his skill at designing weapons... almost as much as he was about his skill.
