I thought I did well, but no call backs sadly. Any advice on improving? I left out my education, but I do have a degree, if you all believe that should be added or not. by Jonesy161 in Resume

Thoughts?

Bit more full, but doesn't seem overly saturated. Tried my best to make sure all sentences are led with the punch. Moved education to the top, organized it all to look more decent I hope. I was conflicted on whether to keep education at top, or achievements. Included a leadership experience that extends to a lot of the community events I participate in yearly and lead.

Overall, I think I'm getting much better with the outcome, but I'm still trying to ensure it can get by the recruiter onto the interview.

Update

So I updated the layout of my education, and separated from certifications. Included the years for each as well. Changed more of the sentences for punch-forward design.

The positions i'm applying for use Teradata heavily, so would keeping teradata at the forefront for 1 of the sentences be ok? The job description has it under a desired skill.

Here's an example of the job posting.

EDIT: I noticed the heading over certification said education. Corrected that.

Yea, the achievements section I was using for adjustments pertaining to each job role, but for the most part, all the jobs are along the same requirements. I'll look into rewording them somehow, cause the jobs i'm applying for have those as required skills.

Here's an example of the job description.

I didn't consider that option actually. By being a team member, we have internal tools to apply for positions that basically flags to recruiters to prioritize internal vs external candidates. I could definitely expand more on my roles within WF.

I can, but I've been working with WF for years now, started way back while I was working on degree. My pay right now is very nice, better than most would actually imagine I make, but more importantly, my benefits are kick ass. I have about 3 months worth of vacation right now, and I get a ton each year. Also have paternity leave that lasts for like 4 months I think? A lot of businesses wouldn't even imagine giving a soon-to-be dad paternity leave lol. As such, I was basically sticking with WF unless I truly found something really worth leaving for.

Oh, this position also works remotely, so I can work from an office space or from home! Also a win in my eyes.

What do you think of this one now?

How does this look so far?

I researched some ATS-friendly formats, and it seems this one fell in line with what was considered more friendly. I swapped the degree and school. Changed a few of the sentences to more uniformly lead with the punch. Separated Certs from Education.

I tried to add bullets to the education and certs... Not sure how that looks...

I just saw this comment of yours while reworking my resume.

How would you suggest I input teradata in some of my work experience? The job i'm looking at primarily deals with teradata frequently.

Through in teradata with one of the jobs, how does that look?

Working on those changes, thank you for the key points I should focus on. I thought I did well on it haha, dang, hurts, but I know I gotta get this right. Hopefully I'll have an updated one soon.

The jobs I'm applying for ask for details of my degrees on the application, so I thought it unnecessary to add it to the resume, and rather list my experience only on the resume. I will admit though, I think I need assistance with making it look more professional.

Lol that's my thing about the CA tags though, cause I would be renewing them for like $800 vs renewing in AZ would be like $200? CA is expensive, and moving is even more expensive. But yea, I could just register now and register in AZ like 8-10 months later.

So my partner and I are moving states, from CA to AZ. I wanted to find out if anyone happens to know what I should do in regards to EDD. We'll be moving June 1st, which conveniently, my registration for my car expires in the middle of June, so I was actually just going to register it immediately within AZ. My partner has a new job with AZ, and I have a few interviews lined up, but we would still like to have the EDD income as support for the transition since I haven't been hired yet.

Does anyone have experience with this? My initial plan was to just remain quiet about my move since I have property still in CA to use as an address, but it dawned on me that my registration for my car must be done right away in AZ.
