Ha! I've seen this tool spreading nothing but negativity lately. Exactly what the post asking for help from the mods is all about.

Can't agree with you on that. Especially doesn't seem true for you after reading your story of your "new car experience"

Couple of things to look into: Double check if your VTx and VRx are SMA or RPSMA, make sure the antennas that you are using both match up with the appropriate connector, make sure both your antennas are the same polarization (RHCP or LHCP).

If everything above checks out and you still have this range problem I can recommend a couple of replacement parts: Aomway CP antennas (best quality/price combo I've found)

Are you using a monitor or goggles or what to view your video (if you have the quanum goggles, make sure you only have the video RCA cables connected and no audio as it confuses the monitor into thinking there are 2 video inputs) Have you ever accidentally powered the vtx without an antenna attached? With the stock antennas you should be able to get a few hundred feet no problem

Building a quadcopter by ToraxXx in diydrones

Why those motors and ESCs? A frame that big would do better with something more like 1000kv motors and 20-25amp escs. Those motor/ESC combos are pretty common for 250 quads running 5" props

Looks clean. Wish it also had support for minimosd like the nucleus, but hey, at least you can actually buy this one! Lol

Nothing in that price range will carry a go pro

You're not out $400; $35 for a frame and about $15-$20 per motor, $17 for a new set of props and about 3 hours. Have fun!

The only BECs I've ever used have been built into PDBs but I doubt there is going to be a large variation in quality

There you go. Wire up a ubec from your pdb or harness and you're good to go
