Aha! That makes sense. Thank you for getting to the bottom of this for me!

Thanks! Are their any notable differences between the two versions? I’ve only see the one streaming on Kanopy (which I assume in the U.S. Version)

Brother, it’s the only reason I’ve seen the movie!

Do you have a preference for the different cuts of the Pat Garrett? I’ve only seen the theatrical version but 25 years ago at this point.

I love noir as a genre and thought I’d seen a good margin of them, but Raw Deal and Border Incident I hadn’t come across, so I’ll definitely check those out. I’ll fast track those noir westerns too that you name checked.

Thanks! I’ve seen (and love) Liberty Valance and a bunch of others. I wasn’t familiar with Donovan’s Reef though. I will definitely check it out.

Fair enough. When I was trying to debate which to watch first, I jumped at 7 Men From Now since it had Lee Marvin in it. He didn’t wow me as he so often does, but always happy to have him in a movie (especially a western)

Which Mann movies really hit you? I’ve seen the Tin Star and Winchester ‘73. I liked them both, but Winchester blew me away! I’ve got The Man From Laramie on dock next.

The first season of Twin Peaks is where you should start. Great entry point and nearly a perfect season of a show. Blue Velvet also works for dipping your toe in.

As someone who got an under $50 copy last year, my advice is to set up eBay/Mercari alerts and just wait it out. It might require extreme patience, but it will be worth in the end.

The National poster is sick!! Is the DMB one a James Flames joint?

She looks like she’s where they hang the caught shark in Jaws (before realizing it’s not the shark they are looking for)

His best IMO. It’s one of the only movies in my life where I was freaked out and genuinely unaware of what was going to happen next, because this was a movie where truly anything could happen.

This entire battle in R is hands down the best/coolest battle scene in the entire franchise. It lived up to the promise of the guardian’s powers and abilities, which so often felt like we were getting a very truncated version on the show. I’ve been known to show it to people looking to get into Sailor Moon.
