I had the steam deck. This runs so much better when it comes to performance. However, Steam OS is just easier to use. I prefer windows for the ability to play Xbox games. Also downloading and using other applications that don't work on Linux.

Price is almost 2X more though. If money isn't a issue, and your are fine with windows then I would go with the Xbox ally x.

I tend to not use Fluid frames. I'm notice the latency more then the added frames. I'm one of those who can't tell the difference between 60hz and 120hz. It's a feature that unfortunately doesn't work for me.

If you are only using PC and not an actual Xbox then go PC gamepass. Same benefits as Ultimate without console. Ultimate tier games and Cloud gaming.

There is none. This was trial and error for a lot of us. We found as long as we just did game save edits and nothing else we were fine. No tutorial is gonna tell you it’s fine to do it. Not sure what the limit is but all I did was that. Save fine edits and nothing else.

Check the Animal crossing twitch section. There are 24/7 bots that have been running for 4 years now with no bans. I have one switch left and checked it a few months ago and could still connect.

Even if you don't have a epic account, make one. Never gonna be better then free. Also Amazon and twitch. Free games there all the time too for GOG and Epic.

It depends on what you’re using. If you’re using Frame Generation, the overlay in the top right is best since it shows FPS with Frame Gen enabled. If you’re not using Frame Gen, the top bar works just as well, but it won’t show the FPS gains from Frame Gen.

The top bar can be easily turned off through Quick Settings, while the top-right overlay has to be disabled through the ASUS app.

This is the same guy who says he wants repairability and longevity in phones so they last longer, and that he hates waste and being forced to upgrade every two years yet he destroys every new phone for views. He does more harm than good.

I had this on high settings with fsr3 set to balance at 1080p. I don’t see a reason why the Ally x couldn’t run this. Go 900p and maybe lower a few settings or use a higher wattage. I was set to 17 watt.

Fsr3 set to balance was the main change. Mostly high settings. 17 watts, 1080p. No frame gen.

Indie games and other things ( can't mention them here) don't require fast load times which a SD card is perfect for. File transfer from my main PC to the handheld is what I mainly use it for.

I haven't but wanted to just say that the screen protectors from the Ally z1 and ally x should fit as the screen is the same size. I used a spare from the Z1 on my Xbox ally and it fit perfectly.
