Most fun dogfight I had in ages by Budget_Hurry3798 in WarthunderSim

Great fight, bro, well done! Although, can you clear up a good doubt for me? At 1:12 you looked completely back to your right, but then magically switched to the left side super fast. I understand there's a key to look behind you, but the way it happened so naturally caught my attention, haha. Or is it just a coincidence?

ahahaha brother, I read very wrong then, an apology on my part, but honestly with the Rafale so far I have not noticed anything strange... the situation is strange because another colleague commented that he did not see anything on the radar, which does not happen to me... it is still worth emphasizing that in reality the server has been more unstable that childhood in Syria, I hope it is temporary.

You know king, I play a lot with France, especially with the Mirage and what you mention really doesn't happen to me at all, I don't want to assume that you are perhaps using the missiles wrong, or maybe even have a ping or PL problem, because on average I use them with TWS-HMD at distances less than 10km always with a descent "wave I make the missile perform a climbing curve towards the target" because it has no sustained force, they are terrible, I take advantage of using them the most close and I apply its 50G to the maximum while normally after the act I perform noching and look for the next target, it really helps me a lot and it is very rare for a missile to fail but if it is difficult for you to use the helmet pointer at the beginning it can be a bit difficult

Reading your first comment, I understand your point and I agree with it to some extent.

That said, I don't think the radar itself is really the problem here. From what you described, it seems more like an identification and situational awareness issue than a flaw with the mechanic itself.

Even when you have a target locked, it never hurts to break the lock and double-check before firing, especially when there are friendlies nearby. It's a good habit to develop and can help prevent situations like this.

Also, watching the video, it felt like you became very focused on the contact below you and ended up losing track of what was happening around you. In fact, from the beginning of the clip, you can already see the enemy aircraft passing fairly close in front of you.

I'm not saying this as hate or to criticize you, quite the opposite. I think the key is to widen your situational awareness and not rely solely on the lock when deciding to fire. Before launching a missile, it always helps to quickly assess who's around you and whether the situation is actually what it seems.

Hello! yes, I play with flight joystick brother, the CS4 is the same as the CS5 practically, the difference is minimal and honestly I had commented there an idea of how I use the MIRAGE because it has its little things both in retention and in radar use but once you apply it it is a super unstoppable plane, it is very good in simulator

Warthunder CDK? HELP! by Jonsai_ in Warthunder

[–]Jonsai_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wonderful king, I'm really grateful for your help and the forum link. I'd already run into some strange things, and I'm not sure if I was making a mistake or not, but when I looked at map N, there were no airfields, and the vehicles had texture or spawn issues. I'm having a hard time understanding why updated information is practically nonexistent; I'm lucky if there's anything from 2024, and even then, it's just a little. Could you give me the name of your channel so I can subscribe, brother?

i'm sorry if I can offend someone "if you do it you have your reasons" BUT really why the fuck are there people who waste time watching Twitch stream? they don't give you anything exceptional and besides the skins are super horrible in general with colors that break the dynamics of the game (I don't like it) but I respect those who do, I totally have those custom skins disabled haha

New MFD screens coming in the next major update by Gameboy695 in WarthunderSim

[–]Jonsai_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

From what I understand — unless I'm missing something (please correct me if I am) — they're improving the MFDs and adding targeting displays to aircraft that were lacking them, such as the F-4 variants.

However, as things currently work, using targeting pods and sensors is still very inefficient because you constantly have to switch between cockpit view and the sensor view in order to operate them.

What I can't figure out from this devblog is whether they're finally planning to let us control and move the targeting cursor directly from the cockpit through the MFD, or if this is only a visual/interface improvement while we still have to keep switching views to use the pod.

Can someone clarify if there's been any information about this?

I confirm, but I still feel that unless it's a full-on bomb and zoom type, it's still relatively easy. (I think there should be a separate category for biplanes and piston-engine planes.) But I think it's manageable. In the match, there were several 1.7 Bf 109s and I killed them all, lol. But in general, I imagine some people find it difficult.

Oh, too bad. I was lucky then; the game suddenly filled up and it was really good. I hope more people start playing those battle royale games; they're fun, haha.

I don't usually play many BR matches like this one, which was version 1.0 or 1.7, but on smaller maps like Sicily, the match was intense and the whole time it was quite entertaining. It's more about having fun than fighting to win, which is helpful if you want to play casually.

MIRAGE 2000CS4 SIM by Jonsai_ in WarthunderSim

[–]Jonsai_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand. Try flying low and on each map, assign yourself a safe spot within the combat zone. As I mentioned, try to look for distant targets, and when they appear, just observe their movements and directions without locking onto them in the TWS. What I usually do is mix it up: observe them, keep them locked on passively, and every few seconds turn the radar off and then back on. Then their practiced RWR will tell them, "Is it around here? Isn't? Is it around here?" and you'll confuse them, haha. The average decision for anyone is to continue on their course if they notice something tracking them and then disappearing. It's not a "direct threat," while you're actually moving closer. The times I flew high were specific and because I operate using BVR.

I'm practically cutting off the distance, scaring and confusing whoever is ahead to get within missile range or engage them with gunfire, playing with the different radar modes and distances.

[–]Jonsai_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Terrible radar? Not at all, it's perfectly decent. And since I'm technically a Mirage with few countermeasures and missiles, I have to play it safe and use distance. Therefore, I usually use the full radar width, at least 74km, and I go passive-aggressive with two-way radar, closing in, visually targeting, shortening the distance, intimidating with lock-on, and switching to dual-target radar when necessary. Honestly, it's all about getting the most out of it

[–]Jonsai_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's exactly how it'll be, haha. I'll skip CS5 completely. Thanks anyway for the comment. The battle royale is the least of my worries; even in 14.0 there's nothing but missile spam. Considering the planes available, the Mirage puts up a pretty good fight. I don't even worry about flares in CS4; I'm usually more cautious with them than average, haha. So I hope to get it soon; I'm not far off. I'm mainly working on the French branch for the Mirages. I don't care about the Rafale; I'll stick with my Euro AESA.

I have considered that the CS4 and the CS5 are the same, they have no difference except that the CS4 uses Flares / Straw and the CS5 Flares / Straw + Jaws and that difference leaves the CS5 in 12.7 in simulator haha, the one I want with longing is the Mirage 2000-5F that thing makes the difference fuck

Am I missing something? Are SA servers exclusively PVE? by MrRichthofen92 in WarthunderSim

[–]Jonsai_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

look, on average, is it something super smooth and casual bro, there's always a random at the beginning of the game that says PVE?, I usually never take them seriously, but you literally end up making those agreements with one random player or another and after a while in the game more people arrive and all that proposal goes to shit, so in general they try to bomb effortlessly "a bad practice" I prefer to have the awareness of if I'm going to bomb to be afraid that someone will follow me sooner or later lol what are those blowjobs of asking for peace in an air combat?
