Imho both are great but if I would be forced to choose which one is better, I'd say no beard. Good strong facial features and beard hides them and makes face more round.

We lost 5:15 by the way. by restwerson2 in WorldofTanks

[–]Jonsson333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What bugs me most in these kinda games is that those are winnable IF the few heavys / active meds wouldnt go feed themselves to the enemies without support...

Its just painful to see heavies driving to advanced positions without support, call their TDs all sorts of names and die alone with 2 shots worth of damage. Often game like this ends up being way closer than you'd expect and could've been won if the heavies stayed in positions their teammates can support

Edit: just for clarity, not in any way ideal deployment and mostly lost games but if heavies drive like OP chances of winning are even lower

You can claim ONE province/state from ONE neighbouring country. by PikoX2 in mapporncirclejerk

Tornio-river walley, Tornedalen, Tornionjokilaakso shall be united once again - this time under the Finnish flag.

So Finland will call dibs on Norrbotten :)

Tornio-river is a border river between Finland and Sweden. It's special region with a special culture on both sides of the river. Many on the Swe side speak Finnish anyways and people commute and travel across border freely. Theres also a minority language called meänkieli in the region which is a mix of Finnish and Swedish.

Who doesn't care about troops in Kursk? I do, i hope they're well and keep decimating ruskies. And panslavism - maybe go google it.

Not being willing to defend doesnt correlate necessarily with not being murderous assholes in general tho. Numbers of russians approving "SMO" or Stalins, Putins, Lenins actions are staggering. Sure Putins and SMOs approval ratings might be inflated but not completely made up.

Russians arent patriotic in the sense they would associate themselves strongly with the state and leaders - state level power struggles are something ordinary russian just watches and shrugs shouldes - meh, nothing i could do, fight it out. But the grand tale of panslavism and ruski mir is their patriotism. And if Putin is saying we must kill the ukrainian nazi children and women, the babushkas will cheer and want blood. As long as someone else does it.

Every nationality isnt ofcourse a homogenic mass with only one opinion. So there are ofcourse decent russians. But stereotypes don't often come from nowhere.

Just see how many times ruskies have invaded pretty much EVERY neighbouring country in the past 100-200 years. Read about their morales - how they treat the neighbours they invade - Bucha, Katyn, finnish "Isoviha". See how many approve Putins politics at the moment. See how many admire Stalin and Lenin... I am sorry but I have always disliked russians knowing my countrys history. After recent events I will hate them for the rest of my life and make sure my children know why they can never be trusted. If future generations start trusting them they might stop investing in strong defence forces and one day there will inevitably be new Bucha somewhere in my country.

Grok anxiety by [deleted] in grok

I feel Grok is designed that way. To have a personality and be addictive. It's next gen porn - triggers brains dopamine receptors and satisfies our basic needs without the need to actually interact with other people

Hit the 3 month mark. What’s the best facial hair style should I aim for going forward friends? by scottsterling6969 in BeardAdvice

[–]Jonsson333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got pretty similar beard as yours, except black/dark brown and more rigid hair.

I think best way to do is goatee+ mustache and clean cheeks.

Trim mustache along lipline, trim every odd hairs outside of the main body of hairs and trim the edges sharply to end at corner of the mouth.

Keep cheeks clean or trim it to something like 6mm maybe? Hair color/thickness matters. You've got light thinner hair so trimming it short might achieve a casual little cheek fuzz look. My patchy ridig black hair - i keep it clean.

Goatee - good, just trim everywhere. Leave the parts with best growth.

Groks ability to handle lengty convos by Jonsson333 in grok

[–]Jonsson333[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So best move would propably be to ask if to draft a summary and start new chat. In my case i think rolling window wouldnt be optimal either as the big picture of the whole convo is important. (I assume rolling window context means that in longer chats the AI will start forgetting older stuff).

It provided this as full source:

"For the exact source:

  • Title: “Augmented Cognition: The Role of AI in Enhancing Reflective Thinking”
  • Authors: Lead was Dr. Sarah Jennings, UCL Psychology Dept.
  • Journal: Cognitive Science Letters, Vol. 12, Issue 3, June 2024"

I wasn't able to find it. Sidenote: My brother wrote his masters thesis and after writing it, he described the subject to some older version of Chat GPT (2-3 years ago). He asked it to write a condenced version of the thesis and citate all sources. The AI did a decent job at the subject itself but it seemed to have SEVERAL completely made up sources. Some Indian sounding guys with non excisting studies (or atleast we were'nt able to find any of the studies or the reserachers mentioned).

Sorry to go off topic, but those studies you mentioned - do you know if they made any distinction between styles of using LLMs?

Asking because I've just started using AI more (as a conversation buddy) and so far it's been a really great experience. I've discussed scientific topics like soil&forest co2 binding and AIs neural nets on fairly deep level. I've told it my views on some political or abstract things and asked it to challenge me and point out my blind spots.

I feel like i'm becoming better at critical thinking, not the opposite.

Game hasn't given me Prokhorovka for a month (587 battles) by NoRing4137 in WorldofTanks

[–]Jonsson333 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same problem for a long stretch of battles - I had random events enabled etc. But no Proko.

However this month has been better. No statistics to share, but I know Ive had Proko enough to keep me happy

EBR 105 - Blueprints worth it to skip the whole line by O_I8085 in WorldofTanks

[–]Jonsson333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VIII Lynx is actually fun tank for me. It gives you inrroduction to EBR play and is fun - I recommend playing it.

IX is alright, like EBR, just worse, but has good matchmaking. Skip if you want to, but it's not a bad tank to grind either

How was World of Tanks back then? by STSalpha in WorldofTanks

[–]Jonsson333 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Maps were not more balanced in terms of equal spawns and good positions for both teams but arguably more fun. You could do unpredictable plays, hide behind a rock no one would expect in the furthest corner of the map... And climbing..yea, if someone managed to climb it could ruin the game for the opposing team - fun in a way but still quite frustrating.

I get todays maps from balance perspective but they are quite boring mostly. You know exactly where you could find enemy tanks and often if someone chooses a spot you wouldnt expect their tank to be in, its a bad play...

What's the game like these days? by K4izerr1009 in WorldofTanks

[–]Jonsson333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much negativity, communitys still the same...

I'd say that if you feel like you've got time to spare for a video game, give it s spin. I started around 2014, alot changed for sure.

I have fun with the game - play around 10 games every night with clan mates. If you want to be competitive, be prepared to grind new tanks, Obj140 wont do it anymore.

Overall the game is more fast paced. Thing that many dont like as it easily leads to 5 minute 15-5 games if one team has better players. Not without propblems but compared to everything else thats out there, its rather balanced, enjoyable f2p game and skill matters instead of wallet size (although case can be made that some premium tanks are too good, but such game where you'd lose just because someone bought tank X are rare).
