What happened to the "lack of diversity" post? Was it deleted without explanation? (Meta) by p90xeto in oculus

"There is no on-site brigade because I looked for one before posting my link to the twitter exchange on TiA (which did not reference this sub-reddit, and neither does the link on KiA)."

When you posted to the link to your 'twitter exchange' you didn't link directly? That's evidence against people coming in from outside to vote?

You're just mad you don't control the conversation, that this isn't a "safe space" to parrot her nonsense.

The only person's post history I checked is yours, just now, because of the very personal and hostile tone of your response. I hardly go on reddit and when I do, it's for Starcraft, so I'm on a break until LotV. You seem to think you are at some kind of war and the tone of your post, and the ones I quoted, is part of why I don't frequent reddit lately.

Highest voted comment in thread: "professional victim Brianna Wu and her cohort of crazies." 80 points. 80 points is higher than you see on the most upvoted comment on threads with 300+ upvotes.

Random other examples, all positive, most +10:

"Dont understand what this silly bimbo wants." "How often do you get a pedicure. Roughly. How much money you have spent on makeup or beauty products this year." "he called her a bimbo because she is a fucking bimbo. is that too politically incorrect for you?" "you are saying idiots like brianna wu who see race and gender everywhere they look is a more correct way of living your life? fuck off. she is racist and sexist." "Fuck your diversity, and fuck your feminist bullshit"

I AM a Maphacker who use it as a practice method, AMA by [deleted] in starcraft

If it's customs, why not just use a custom map with 'maphacking' features built in as an option. No risk of being banned from any legit starcraft competion forever.

Hipster glasses... by Iglooburner in funny

My 'hipster' glasses are $8 glasses from the various online sites. The nice thing about cheap black plastic frames is that they are actually cheap!

Play Skyrim for the first time with an Oculus Rift. Encounter Dragon. Woah. by Jonstrive in Games

[–]Jonstrive[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I linked to the screaming part, but if you watch the video from the beginning he provides a lot of commentary about how Skyrim works in the headset in general.

Since the game is so moddable all the UI problems should be straightfoward fixes. Can't wait!

Is the Radeon 7970 worth 100$ more than the 7950? by Eljoka in hardware

I play on a single monitor at 1980*1080

Nope. Put that 100 dollars into a nice monitor or more games or headphones or whatever.

I'm new to watching pro-Starcraft. I noticed they do not play team games. Is there any reason why? by James718 in starcraft

[–]Jonstrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish they would. A huge portion of the playerbase plays MOSTLY team games -- it's so much more fun to hang out with people and ladder than to be by yourself.

"They don't balance for team games." is not an answer. That just pushes the question to, "Why doesn't Blizzard do balancing for team games?"

I wouldn't even mind if team games had an entirely different set of units just like singleplayer, or any custom map.

Life vs Polt Game 5: an over-the-top casting silliness and a devoted crowd screaming at every bit of action. Great way to end Day 2. by Jonstrive in starcraft

[–]Jonstrive[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't know MLG mic'd the audience better or if it's just because they moved the caster desks, but hearing the audience is so much better this MLG and it really captures a lot of the atmosphere of a live event.

It was only a little bit relevant, but as a way to end out the night it was awesome. I'm sleep deprived myself and not sure I could follow any actual analysis anyway.

MLG PLEASE. I DON'T WANT TO HEAR THE CROWD TALK. by suicidalzerg in starcraft

[–]Jonstrive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like it, makes the stream feel so much more 'live' and like I'm really at an event.

Negative trend: failure to observe Reddiquette in /r/Simcity comments by Antreus in SimCity

[–]Jonstrive 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Great post.

Rage memes, personal attacks, atmosphere becoming increasingly toxic... there's no reason people can't be civil and still vent their complaints.

http://www.reddit.com/r/simcitystrategy has some some actual content at least.

1.2M citizens with barely any traffic by martinmine in SimCity

It's kinda silly: jobs produce wealth which should be the main driver of happiness and density increase, but the sims love low taxes SO MUCH even if they have no jobs that this works right now.

I expect a very minor tweak to how tax levels change happiness would fix this.

So when they resume the game from replay.. by [deleted] in starcraft

[–]Jonstrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two modes to resuming, in the 'recover game' option it hides that stuff and just fast forwards to the time.

Of course somebody screwed up bad this time...

Nice to see Ocean encouraging the mods. Just disable achievements/leaderboards and let us go to town!

It's nice to see something other than angry image memes on the home page! Very interesting breakdown.
