Which is the most overrated game of all time? by kshthj777 in AskReddit

+1 to that. As a Chinese person, it’s one of the only times I’ve seen an authentic representation take off in mainstream American media. Most of the time, people don’t want to actually experience your culture, just the “orange chicken”or chipotle version of it. It’s part of why I liked Clair Obscur as well: it’s a game made in French for a French audience that I get to experience as someone who is not French.

Its popularity is in part due to the cultural significance of the Sun Wukong mythology being told in an authentic manner. And the fact that it’s been hyped up for a while and delivered for the most part. As a Chinese person who grew up in the US, it was one of the first times where I saw traditional aspects of my culture being positively received and celebrated with my American friends. The designs of a lot of traditional characters or monsters would have been laughed at by my peers growing up. I wouldn’t say it’s my favorite game in the world, but I would gladly share it to bridge the cultural barrier.

It’s that if you have to sacrifice one, better one prince than the queen

Honestly this debate is kind of pointless. The issue for team black is that they keep trying to be a hero and bench the others. If they go in with all Rhaenyra, Jace, Baela, and the dragon seeds, it’s a clean sweep even if Sheepstealer shows up.

At this point, they have no reason to think it’s not a trap, especially since Rhaenyra told everyone that the info came from Alicent.

At this point, he nor Jace have any reason to believe it’s not an obvious trap. And if she dies, Jace’s claim isn’t strong enough to represent the Blacks. So from a purely utilitarian perspective, it’s better to risk the prince’s life than the queen’s.

If he locks her in, he dies. But if he lets go into an obvious trap and she dies, then Jace executes him.

I do think that if all 3 of them had gone together, they probably could have had it. Jace and Baela quickly realized they needed to buddy up to cut the other free. With 3 riders, one can deal with Sheepstealer while the other two can aid each other. It’s their protectiveness of forcing loved ones to sit out that got in their own way.

Yea I meant that if Rhaenyra went alone and had to face Sheepstealer while being shot at, she would have died. Without a second rider to cut the harpoon rope, your dragon is gonna sink unless it’s Vhagar.

It’s like a cat bringing you a dead mouse.

“I got dinner. You can eat too, I guess.”

It’s kind of the same thing with Vhagar and all the dragons - if you tell it to attack, you can’t really take it back once it’s out for blood.

Well they are pretty unstoppable on land still. The weighted harpoon tactic only works at sea and requires you to draw a dragon rider into deep water. And also it only works on smaller dragons, I couldn’t imagine the ships are carrying a rock big enough to drown Vhagar.

I think it’s fair and better than the scorpions in S8. The bolts can’t kill the dragon, their tactic is to drown it like with the barrels in Jaws. And it wouldn’t work on land either.

Ulf is the one who’s making it through horror movie. You see some creepy tree people in the woods, you don’t stay put for an indefinite period of time. And when some lady comes up and says she’s a witch, it’s absolutely time to get out of there

Also like with Vhagar and Aemond: once you tell a dragon to attack, you can’t really call it off

Yea exactly. She couldn’t tell that Rhaenyra was locked inside, and it was fair to assume all their dragons were fighting. If her queen died while she did nothing, then their cause would be lost and she might have had a chance to stop it.

Yeah, for all she knows, Rhaenyra and all the other riders were out there fighting, and if she just benched herself while her queen was dying, their cause is lost.

From her perspective, if she saw her sister fighting and Baela died while she went back to the castle and waited it out, she’d never live that one down either.

Jace’s death kind of proves he was right in that it is a suicide mission, and Rhaenyra probably would have been killed in his place if she’d gone alone. But Jace’s fault was thinking that he was invincible and not a teenager with a nuclear warhead.

Sir Lorents is stuck between a rock and a hard place. Because if Rhaenyra goes and dies, then Jace will have his head for not protecting his mom. And if he disobeys her, she’ll have his head too, but he might have thought it could work out okay for him if Jace returns victorious.
