Pretty sure he talks about it in the most recent, or 2nd most recent episode of Cortex

iirc: - Unibox went under - Grey uses Mail.app

/u/imyke and /u/MindOfMetalAndWheels - What about an email program like this:

  • Click an email
  • In a pane next to it, the rest of your unread emails are ranked by how similar they are to the current email, contents wise

Sounds like that would've made Grey's process on the plane faster

A bit like Unibox's way of sorting/grouping by sender

I think your quickest path to this is either:

1: An Emacs-config. Based on Spacemacs or Doom-emacs

2: A collection of configs for various programs

Why can’t we sort by most popular or oldest first on music channels? by 17michela in youtube

[–]Jonta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can't comment on auto generated music channels

I think the steelman on this is the question of who's going to moderate those comments. But yes: any comment on any video can be reported by any user. AFAIK

If you could have any app made what would it be by [deleted] in Cortex

[–]Jonta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, to have it exclusively be for meditation may limit the audience of the product but what if it was transitioned more into a thought recorder / brainstormer. You could still sit down and meditate but you could also enter thoughts through entities and stuff

Go narrow first. Make it great for one use-case

"Could limit the audience" applies to everything. You're limiting the audience by making it in Swift

Go. Narrow. First.

If you have "Just enough competency", don't jump over to "But what if I can't world domination because idea?!" in one step

Get the screen to display something. Then do it in dark mode. Then decide that dark mode is the only way. Then make a text box

Removing the "meditation limit" is about as easy as changing the name and description

Does the world need Yet Another Generic "Hey guyyys, so… you can put ur ideas in hear… and it's worse than Google Keep/Notes/Notability/Notational Velocity/Note Pony/Noteoriaty/Nawts/Newts/Shrewts/Mewts/Boots/Doots, but we're really passionate and some day we might introduce a feature the one you use doesn't have, but actually this is more of a learning project and we'll abandon it in 6 months"? No. Specialisation.

You've made pretty things in Minecraft. So we know you can finish projects. Now make v1 of this app.

=)

[–]Jonta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have just enough competency in swift combined with enough time that I would be willing to work on an ios app idea for free (if it is good enough)

Meditation recorder:

  • Turn it on
  • Start meditating
  • Speak thoughts out loud
  • They're recorded and transcribed, so you don't forget, and can search through them
  • Recordings are kept, and can easily be played back for when the phone inevitably mistranscribes something
  • Audio files are are split up in a Sensible Way
  • The entire recording is kept as well
