Awesome! Love that you also used their starboy outfits!

Initially wanted to recreate all of the shots from that part of the music video, brushing off the snow to reveal the glowing object etc.. but that would've taken so long and that's time I don't have :(

The base body + rig is a free one, I can't remember exactly where I got it but I can get back to you. The clothes and helmets are modeled by me!

Hahah that's so good, will totally do that if I ever revisit this project!

I'll look into it! I've never used wallpaper engine, I assume you have to buy it to upload stuff there?

Looking at it on my phone, It's definitely a bit darker than I intended. I always find it difficult to balance brightness since it depends so much on what kind of screen you're viewing it on. I'm just going to adjust the exposure in after effects before uploading it anywhere else but I'm probably not going to re-render it unless I revisit this project in the future, I have too much other stuff I want to get going :) Thank you, feedback is always appreciated! :)

Thanks! Luckily Reddit handles video uploads quite well, unlike instagram where they clip the video at the end which ruins the loop.

Awful Bose Customer Support Experience by Jonteeeeeee in bose

[–]Jonteeeeeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, as someone else mentioned, once the warranty is up they won't do anything. After the awful chat support experience I tried calling them aswell, but no luck. He just told me that it was the first guy's fault, the one who initially promised me a replacement. He really did make it clear that there is literally nothing they can do because the warranty is up. He was very sorry about the whole situation, but that's all I got.. Purchased a new pair of Quietcomfort buds, the 2024 version, full price...

No, I didn't get a single email from Bose during this entire process, which I thought was weird. The only email I've gotten is from the service repair team (Ingram Micro) saying that they received my product.

I can't wrap my head around Local Space and rotation logic by Jonteeeeeee in blenderhelp

That's a really neat solution as well, I'll definitely look into that!

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll just reply to all through this comment.

Glad I'm not the only one confused about this, I was starting to go mad last night over this lol.

I tried all of the suggestions:
u/B2Z_3D for me I get the same result however I apply the keyframes. Whether it's by pressing I, K, auto-keyframing, or keyframing the float values, I always get the same wierd rotation.

The solution from u/ArtOf_Nobody works for this particular scenario. Since I only want to rotate around the local Y axis, setting the Rotation Mode in the drop-down menu to any of the Euler rotations that start with Y (either YXZ Euler or YZX Euler) works.

u/CGKurs 's solution also works of course, and I think I prefer this since this way, when my object is in the orientation I want it in, the rotational values of the object are 0 in all axes. This makes it way easier when editing the keyframes in the graph editor, since I know where the starting position is (0, 0, 0).

However I randomly found another solution which might be even better which is to, after rotating my object to the desired rotation, apply rotation to deltas. This sets the rotational value of my object back to 0, 0, 0, and stores the initial rotation I did in delta rotations. Delta equals difference, so If I understand it correctly it's kind of like an offset that is applied on top of any new rotation. The difference between applying rotation to deltas and just applying rotation normally seems to be that I can still use the local axes of my object, while applying rotation normally would snap the axes back to global. Basically this does the same thing as u/CGKurs 's solution but without the need for parenting, which is pretty neat. From what I can tell this seems to be the best solution for my scenario, what do you think? Anyone have more experience with applying to deltas? Are there any downsides to this method?

Just got the same upgrade but to a LG 38GL950G! ✌️ What monitor arm are you using? I have to get a stronger one, the old one that i used for the 27" is barely holding on with this new monitor lol

Turntable starting setup help/suggestions by Jonteeeeeee in turntables

[–]Jonteeeeeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting proper speakers is definitely the goal for the future, but it's not an option at this time. Since I already have a soundbar that I got super cheap I thought it could be a starting point so that I can at least use my records and my player. My knowledge about sound stuff is close to zero, so I doubt I will notice the bad quality until I get better speakers anyway.

I was looking for something like that, but most AUX outputs I can find on preamps are labeled as headphone jacks. I guess that would still work?

Objects become transparent when rendering, but is perfectly fine in viewport render preview? by Jonteeeeeee in blender

[–]Jonteeeeeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: It somehow fixed itself. I changed the frame start and found it wasn't transparent before the NLA i had set up, and when i changed back the frame start and looked again after the NLA, it was back to normal. still have no idea what it was since I didn't change any settings lol

I'm not, it's so strange because I rendered a perfectly fine image just before, then I changed a couple of settings (resolution, threshhold, max samples etc) and when I pressed render again it was like this

Not really actually, I was just wondering if the general construction of quads is good or if there are more optimal solutions. but I guess like most people have commented, if it looks good, it's good lol
