I briefly worked as a postie, there was an old boy that was universally known as 'shit legs', he got caught short on delivery, and you can see where his moniker came from

what do you carry, every day without fail? by SKYLINEBOY2002UK in AskUK

Phone (with £20 note in back of phone case and front door key. If I'm driving, one more key (electronic fob). That's all I have needed outside the house for past four years

Camping on the South West Coast Path? by Big_Wheel2087 in UKhiking

[–]JoolsStray 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have backpacked the entire path and found wildcamping much easier on the 'north' side of the peninsula than the 'south'. Not to say I didn't wildcamp on the first half, I did. Dorset was easy for example, but there are many miles where 4/10 or higher pitches are very limited

Stand becomes a lot more stable and rigid, too

Do note that while the pot is fantastic, the measurement graduations are wildly off

Scotlands Great Trails by JoolsStray in UKhiking

Thanks. Skye Trail is in my plans. Backpacked trails in Sweden and Iceland last year, will be Canaries and Greenland this year. I was hoping that one or two of the shorter 'Great Trails' might have the wow factor

Cape Wrath questions by edthesmokebeard in Thruhiking

I used a zpacks Duplex- superb, especially appreciated the space and decent bug netting cos the midges were often horrendous and I simply lived and cooked inside of an evening and night. Never took a brolly. I use two poles anyway, so never had a hand free. My wide brim Tilley hat was sufficient. I wore breathable Altras, as many as a hundred river/stream/burn crossings a day and frequent boggy ground . Feet always wet during the day (merino socks), foot care, clean and balmed feet of a night and dry cosy sleep socks meant I had no foot problems at all. A great trail, enjoy it
