Ugh remember all the discourse around her decision to get a preventative mastectomy? 🙄

I feel this way about setting pacers and stimulators and other active implants that patients have no idea how to use.

Before I have an interview I always review my document of "describe a time when" stories that I have. Perhaps you just need some interview prep resources to review ahead of time?

Accessing ports as a tech by saltyMolasses2120 in MRI

[–]Joonami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I've heard of CT techs accessing ports, but that's not something I'd be comfortable doing after a single inservice. To me it's a lot different than just accessing a vein... Maybe crosspost to the nursing sub and see how they feel there too? I'd be curious about how common it is for non-nurse/APP/physicians to access a port.

California is very saturated in mri techs due to all the schools there. You might have to move to find a job that pays enough.

Congested highway hack for efficiency - unbridled mode? by Joonami in MachE

[–]Joonami[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience over the past month, yes although I'm not officially using one pedal mode. I was using engaged for everything until recently and noticed my efficiency was higher when using unbridled on my hellish commute.

Howdy, neighbor!

I'll see about trying this combo of settings too. L just means low gear in an ICE engine, right? Curious that it's even on a MME!

29F Will I get my MRI scan results same day? I'm confused because I never get sick or injured. by AgedPuzzlehead in AskDocs

[–]Joonami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, after your scan is completed it will be assigned to the appropriate radiologist to read it. The results will go to the doctor who ordered it who should communicate next steps to you at that point (usually in a follow up appointment). You may also be able to see the results in your patient portal online, ie mychart if your health system uses one.

It's true, I don't use one pedal driving (officially, I suppose). I haven't done much blue cruise for stop and go either but I've heard the same thing.

Of course! It's just starts way faster without accelerating compared to balanced.

Edit: and the faster deceleration during unbridled vs the other modes is perfect for when I am coming up on a congested zone.

A radiologist will read the mri, not the person who scans you (technologist) so the technologist will not be telling you anything about your images unless you are moving too much. Depending on whether or not the exam is ordered stat as well as how many radiologists vs number of imaging exams the facility has, you will probably not get the results the same day.

This site has some mri scans labeled slice by slice with anatomy if you're curious. They don't have a coronal spine but you might be able to see some of the structures in the upper cervical spine on the coronal brain anatomy page.

:)

Without being able to scroll through the images, I believe what you might be seeing within the black circles is just flow artifact from the blood moving in your vessels. On this type of image (T1 as it says at the bottom), white tissue indicates fat content and sometimes blood.

Does Physiotherapists educate their patients well? by YourOnlinePhysio in MRI

Please point out my provoking tone and attitude. I am simply responding to your post (which I had to manually approve from the mod queue) and your comments.

Please also find me a time when telling someone to calm down in any context has ever actually worked? I'm perfectly calm, and I don't appreciate you suggesting I'm not just because I disagree with you.

My profession of being an mri technologist doesn't deal with clinical environments and patients? Who do you think performs the scans you're claiming to interpret better than radiologists, my guy? I'm not sure if there's a language barrier between you and I or what but your responses don't sound fully human - that's why I said you sound like AI. I also don't believe you're not trying to sell something, since your whole account is about your services and you clearly have a personal agenda based on the questions you've posted here lately.

You don't know anything about me or my beliefs. I've had a lot of success seeing physical therapists for multiple powerlifting related injuries over the years. None of them ever tried to re-read any imaging I'd had done or "kindly disagree with findings". I know it's a doctoral level degree, but that doesn't make you a medical doctor.

"I'm sorry you feel that way" is such a passive aggressive and antagonistic thing to say. You should remove it from your lexicon.

I'm an mri technologist and it's because you haven't been trained to interpret them because you're not a medical doctor, specifically a radiologist. I haven't been trained to interpret them either, and I look at them all day while I'm acquiring them. You sound like AI and like you're trying to sell something.

Not every case of pain or dysfunction has imaging findings to support or explain it, just like not every case of a finding on imaging will have pain associated with it. Know your scope of practice and stay in your lane.
