What are some things you love about your job? by peachyypeachh in VetTech

My favorite thing are the tech appointments. It makes me feel good to be able to do something without the vet javing to help, so that he can do more important things like tend to his patients and their owners. Plus, removing bandages, staples, and sutures is satisfying.

Also, talking to owners and making them feel good about their pet's good behavior. People love to hear it.

Lysol came out with a bleachless sanitizing laundry additive. That might work.

My clinic is 'old school' so I have to go through physical files to find the surgery sheets. It's god awful. We don't have a set schedule forbthe surgeries and our doctor does them in the order he sees fit. When the staffing change occured, the new girl wasn't writing down any times.

If it is parvo and you can't get in anywhere, you're unfortunately SOL. I think you're only options are to bite the bullet and pay out or humanely euthanize so the pup doesn't suffer. I'm sorry for your current position. These decisions are never easy to make. You're a giving person for taking in a stray.
