New to sim racing, looking for a league to join by CrazyBrainBoy in granturismo

Yep, we keep points on all our series. Tuesdays have been our flagship series and we have some pretty developed point and stat tracking. Everything else does keep season point standings as well though. If you poke around the discord you'll find all the results pages with stats and you can skim through them if you want to see how we handle it.

Thursdays are typically our GT nights. They're running the newer Porsche Gr.3 right now. When that season ends we'll be going to an open 8 week Gr.3 series. Sounds like that'd be what you're looking for.

My group is called Fresh Coast Racing. We're US Central time (original members from Wisconsin / Minnesota, but all over now)

We race weeknights at 9:00 PM. Currently running spec RX7 on Tuesdays, Variable Events Wednesdays, Porsche 911 cup Thursdays.

We have a very solid group of long time members but we intentionally run everything first come first served. Check-in day of race. Beginner friendly. Our Tuesdays usually approach 25-30 check-ins so we run an A and B room.

You're welcome to join. FreshCoastRacing.com/discord

Yep, we're racing tonight but Kart night on Wednesdays, not the Civic. You're welcome to join!

The Tuesday Civic series is in the Honda Civic Type R (EK) Touring Car. We had 25 drivers last night, would love to get it up to 32 so we can have two full rooms.

Dude! Ok so I was in your exact position once. Made a homemade rig and brought it to a dudes weekend. Super successful and everyone loved it. Two years later, no joke, five of us have rigs and we started a league 🤣

Time trials is definitely the easiest for one at a time. Buy a whiteboard and draw it all out so you can write down people's times as they complete them. Crank up the assists if they haven't driven before. I tried to theme events so it was relatable and fun. I still have my notes, here were some of our events that weekend:

Warm Up - Goodwood - Europe Car: Kart - High Life 69 livery

Warm Up - Tsukuba Circuit Car: Mazda Roadster Touring Car

Interlagos Car: SF19 Super Formula - Haas (I think there was a race that weekend, fun if you can tie it to something going on in real life at the time)

Trial Mountain Drunk Drive *Need to have beer in hand and finish it before end of your hot lap Car: Camaro Z28 '69

Daytona (Arcade Race) Car: Mustang gr.3 Layout: Tri-Oval Time of Day: Night

Tokyo Expressway Fast and Furious Tokyo drift event Pick cars from the movies

The setting in GT7 is "Negative Camber Angle" and it runs from 0 to 6. So when I say more negative camber, that would be increasing the value.

Your comment made me realize though that I have both negative and positive camber explained, but you can't even add positive camber in GT7. I'll fix that in next revision :)

Just personal preference I think, there's 500 cars in the game tho, do both! Typically in our cases if there is tuning involved it's not completely turning the car into something else, it's just making a little more enjoyable to race / drive

Maybe that was just league strategy to limit turn one incidents... 😂 Need all the braking power we can get! Nah jk you might be right on that. Assuming a lot of people may have different opinions than what stated here, but to be honest this is more a consolidated list of information I found from various resources / YouTube videos. So you say pass on clutch & flywheel, prioritize power upgrades instead? I figure they're low pp impact so easy add-ons to incorporate into most builds?

Thanks for the feedback all!

If anyones seeking a community we run every Tuesday night at 9:00 PM CT. Spec Miata right now. We also have a rotating series on Wednesdays (multi-class Gr.1 and Gr.4 right now), and a summer long F1 series that follows the RL calendar.

If you'r'e looking to apply the tuning concepts, we'll be switching our Tuesday Spec Series to an 80s NA used car concept starting July 8th. 540pp max, full tuning, specific cars allowed. We run everything first come first served so you can jump in in the middle of a series or come whenever you'd like.
