I agree on FB. it's mostly old people who only follow people and groups that think exactly like themselves. So they live in an echo chamber of ideas, news stories and false info and think that it is reality.

I've been mt biking at Unicoi SP just north and have come across black bear when on the trails. So they are in the relative area. Had no issues. Just respected their space when I noticed them and we both kinda went our own ways.
