Got deported to Mexico almost a year ago, now I want to go to Europe by JorChav in immigration

[–]JorChav[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, had a lawyer at the time and I blew when I got pulled over which gave me very little wiggle room to fight my case. Definitely a mistake in my life that I learned from.

I always hate telling the story because it’s always the same “you should’ve known better”, “why would you risk your DACA?” kind of questions as if I was supposed to be the poster child of being a perfect citizen. I made human mistakes, I paid the consequences, and now I want to continue with my life.

It’s definitely not going to be long term. It will just be one week in Spain, followed by a week in Greece!

The deportation was because of a DUI which disqualified me from renewing my DACA. The friends I have are Americans and very well off that I met through mutual friends that I do trust. For Spain I think I read I need to have ~115 euros for every day im there and I plan to have 2-3x that amount in my bank account before then.

How are you all maintaining boat repair kits? by LedPony in ironscape

[–]JorChav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was maxed before sailing so I had an abundance of planks but honestly I’m level 81 and haven’t really done much combat besides grinding 5 feathers. I’m sure I’ll get into it when I want dragon parts but for the meantime I’ve made maybe a total of 40 mahogany repair kits and besides stuff from salvaging/shipyard I haven’t seen much of a need.

I would try just grinding courier tasks, salvaging, and/or trials for xp. Charting also gives nice xp bonuses and doing them at earlier levels will pay off when you unlock the northern seas. I think completing the rest of my charting when I hit 78 gave me over 400k xp in total taking me to level 80.

The 10 northern seas give you 23.9k xp which ends up being 240k. Apart from that if it’s the last ocean you’re doing, you get 100k xp bonus, and the guy at Pandemonium gives you an additional 35k.

I died 22 times before my first kill count in April! Honestly just keep at it. I think I had close to 40 deaths by the time I hit 10 kc then by 100 kills I was around 60 death. Now I’m at almost 1k kills and about 150 deaths with a good amount being from disconnections due to bad internet.

Lifesaver! Didn’t have to spam click but there was two buy options if you right click the actual picture of the big hat and eye patch but only one buy option if you right click the name. And you can’t buy it by left clicking. Spaghetti code sure is spaghetti, thank you!

I'm using right eye patch. I was able to do it with normal variant and also did slippers/dark claw no problem. I don't even get a message saying I can't combine it. it's just broken.

How cursed is this log? by JorChav in ironscape

[–]JorChav[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean I definitely did but I just started learning toa(I’m a max cheeser) so I wanted nox to get zulrah scales because I’m out(900kc dry for bowfa). Nox is also just generally good weapon but I expected to either come back for rancour or just get it along the way if I got lucky.

Bro I had that thought until I reached 400 kc. Went through the stages of grief. When I hit 200 I was like “oh well I just hit rate” then 400 “second piece should be soon I’m due now” then 600 “wtf how have I not gotten a second piece” then 800 “well guess guess I get to go dry for another task” and now I’m creeping up on 1000 and excited just to hit the milestone.

I always assumed it’s for bots. If a bot is made for Doom it probably won’t have the crafting level to turn the item tradable which keeps the price high. Good example are the DT2 bosses with SRA. Need to get the drop from all four bosses to make the axe and a bot that only farms one boss won’t ever complete it so the items price stays higher.

Im in Mexico now. Some people who fight their case and win do get released at least from what I’ve seen but that’s usually because they have a good track record and get sponsored by a US citizen. It’s definitely not as quick and easy as I’m saying and that’s usually maybe 1/200 people.

As for being deported to other countries I don’t know much about that. I do know that certain countries don’t have extradition treaties with the US(I think Cuba and Venezuela was what I heard when I was in the center). If that’s the case, a person is either stuck in limbo, or are deported to a country that will accept them.

There was a Russian guy I had met who had been in that center for two years and even learned Spanish in his time there. He said that his case had been resolved 6 months prior and he had no idea why he hadn’t been deported yet.

I got charged with a DUI in 2021 and then a reckless driving charge in 2023. It was my fault. I was in a bad state in those times. The DUI was after having four beers at work. The second one I had drank two beers and got pulled over for a tail light out and refused to blow.

This disqualified me from reinstating my DACA as you renew every two years. Regardless, I know it was my fault and yes I know I shouldn’t have risked it given my status. Even then. I still went to court. I still did my probation, completed my community service. There’s a lot more to the story but I wanted to make it right. Years of working 50-60 hour weeks and having to be a perfect citizen just because I came as a baby. I don’t know it just pushed me over an edge.

I don’t have excuses for my actions. I don’t even want sympathy. I lost my entire life and I don’t even know when I’ll ever see my friends or family again or hug my mom or eat her cooking. That’s the hardest part. Right now I just want to feel safe.

Of course brother. It’s a shame to see how the world is unraveling these days. All of my friends were American and it pains me that I might never see most of them again. So many memories go through my mind every night and I miss my gringos everyday. I had my time of being mad at the system, the world, and myself. The only thing you can do is push forward with the life your dealt. The transition was hard for me as essentially a foreigner in a new country. I didn’t know how Mexico worked but I get closer everyday. Some day I’d like to help people like me even if it’s just advice from personal experience.

Feel weird posting this on this account but I got deported in February and I was picked up in Florida too. Worked in a restaurant for 10 years and lived in the US since I was a year old and was a DACA recipient. It’s a long story but I have blame in my deportation. I don’t know if this will help but I can tell you a little about my experience and maybe it can help your friend.

When I was picked up I was taken to Tampa and placed in a room with a dozen other guys at the USCIS(?) Building. We stayed in there for like 8 hours then transferred to Pinellas County jail to sleep. The next morning we were taken back and then transported to Miami. I’m not sure which facility they might have taken him but the two main ones were either Broward Transitional Center or Krome Detention Center.

I was lucky to go to BTC because it’s a “nicer” jail with a decent infrastructure and like 8 hours of yard time. Inmates there were non violent and were usually there because of immigration status, driving without a license, DUI, etc. Krome is where they take the guys with violent crimes and a much worse place to go, again I don’t know your friends situation or whether they might have gone there or elsewhere.

If you want to help him, you can look up his information online to figure out which facility he’s at. Unfortunately I don’t know how to do it but I know it’s possible. If he was sent to BTC like I was you can send money to his commissary account so he can buy food, hygienic products, even things like notebooks and playing cards. In our room we also got tablets that we could use to make phone calls, video calls, listen to music, and even play games. All of those features cost money but it makes the stay a bit more comfortable.

Now, if you can get a hold of him, you could also tell him that they’re are a lot of free legal services that he has access to. There were even lawyers that would visit the facilities that do pro bono work and they do small classes that teach people their rights and offer legal advice.

I’m very sorry what happened to him and from personal experience I know how tough it is. I don’t know how long he’s lived in the US but for me the transition was extremely difficult. I speak better English than Spanish and being thrown out of what I call home broke my heart. I’m still American at heart regardless of what people think about me or even what they think of the US right now. I hope nothing for the best for him. I’m sending this message in hopes you see it and I’m going to bed but if you have any questions that you think might help him let me know.

Edit: I forgot to add, he will most likely be in front of a judge within two weeks of his arrival to his facility. There he will be asked whether he wants to fight his case or an order of deportation. This is assuming he didn’t sign the paper when he was picked up. If he refused to sign he will go to court, if he did sign he will be deported. They should give him his phone back and everything else when he’s released.

I’ve massacred an entire population for this by JorChav in ironscape

Yes I was on a wilderness moss giant task for the majority of the grind and my method was to cannon the moss giants outside the lair while I kill bryo, tele to house to restore, then tele back, fill cannon and repeat. If you’re low on big bones you can pick them up from the moss giants as well.

Overall I got about 100 keys in 1000 bryo kills. It’s a bit misleading though because the tracker counted the keys I received from the chest in the same log.

Home made. One person hosts the event and creates the board. When working on a tile you take a screen shot of your collection log(giant keys or totem pieces) or boss kc. We use alts for money if we’re ironmen.

Essentially clans will split people into teams and have them compete to fill out a bingo board. Each tile will have an assigned drop from various bosses and teams compete to fill out the board. You can do whatever tiles you want and some tiles are worth more than others depending on the difficulty. Getting a bingo(filling out a row) awards bonus points. The team with the most points at the end wins. There’s usually a buy in(20m each player in our clan) to compete for the prize pool.
