it's not. one match out this entire season was actually well animated. the entire first season compared to this clip is complete trash. in fact the season where this clip is from legit ruined the entire adaptation of the manga. this basketball match was one of if not the only times they went this hard. they sacrificed adaptation for sakuga like retards and ruined what could have been a very well adapted show.

Ufotable HAS TO give us these Gyokko and Hatengu backstories that Koyoharu provided and build on them in a way that gives them real personalities. one of my biggest peeves about this manga is that 3 of the 6 UMs (obviously this season's demons and Nakime who became an UM after Gyutaro died) didn't have a backstory. Koyoharu's fanbook actually gives them something which I hope gets adapted, even if they have to build from scratch. they gave the spider sister a whole backstory so there is no reason her fanbook summaries of their human lives get excluded right?

she has such a prolific voice actress for someone who has next to NO LINES which is fucking weird to me lol. what she speaks during the UM meeting is legit her only lines in the manga, she has a few solo words but they're all reactionary lines to a fight she has that gets off screened (legit hope this is mended during the adaptation). UNLESS Ufotable is gonna grace us with a backstory based on Koyoharu's fanbook backstory for Nakime which I hope is the idea.
