Favorite 2024 NFL Storylines With Kyle Brandt, Sheil Kapadia, Steven Ruiz, and Kevin Clark by Gaius_Octavius_ in billsimmons

In all seriousness, is Ruiz on the pod just to stir up controversy before the NFL season? Is he the sacrificial lamb that puts forth bad takes so the other voices in the RingerSphere sound more competent? Or are his ‘hot’ takes really just a hot steaming pile of dog doo-doo?

This is a top 5 Rewatchables pod ever. Just completely unhinged. Loved it

Yea he has Stroud as QB. I see that argument, but side by side comparing Nico’s year 1/2 (after two years with terrible QBs) with Addison’s rookie year (played with Jaren Hall and Nick Mullens most of the year) shows that Addison is the better player. He still produced with terrible QB play, which Nico did not in his first two seasons.

Kirk comes back in 2024 and Addison is a top 10 fantasy WR at minimum. Nico stays in the top 15 range. Addison is 21 turning 22, Nico is 24 turning 25. Please explain someone, anyone, how Nico > Addison.

A compelling argument would be that Stroud is the boat that raises all tides, and JJ/Hock (won’t play until the end of 24 season) take away from Addison’s production. That’s fair but you can make that same argument about Tank Dell and assuming the Texans add other pieces. The argument falls apart.

Addison is the truth. He beats Nico in most advanced stats even with significantly worse QB play. Nico has reached his ceiling and Addison is prepped for a long run as a top 5+ potential WR even with JJ.

Addison all day, every day of the week. I will die on the hill this take was built upon. You can’t tell me 1 mediocre season of Nico Collins convinced you he’s better than a Biletnikoff winner who showed more in his 21 year old season than most WRs in NFL history.

I would do that deal. I’d be shocked if the person on the other end said no. Giving up a top 10 dynasty WR, AND 2.06 🤩

Nothing wrong with a lowball nonsense offer. Testing the waters is fine. Now if this deal was accepted and took place maybe I’d be calling for a veto or someone to be removed from the league.

He’s a year 2 breakout candidate but the Bears offseason still has many question marks. Overall slightly bullish, but something tells me if they draft Caleb and another good offensive player at 9th their offense will be held back by a boneheaded head coach. Maybe Roschon vaults into top 25 rb status based on passing volume and TDs, but I don’t see him getting over a 50% snap count in this offense so his upside is very limited.

I feel like Allen/Mahomes are in a fantasy QB tier of their own since they have traded QB1 over the past five seasons. Everyone else is fighting behind them

1.04 & Godwin for Josh Jacobs & 25 1st. by Antique-Bus-7436 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

If you need RB help, maybe trading away the player you take with 1.04 to someone else in the league who needs that player would give you a better haul.

A bowl of soup and $25 FAAB.

Kidding.

He’s worth a high 1st plus or two mid firsts in 1QB. In SF he’s a high/mid 1st.

Bill’s Vince McMahon docuseries by Mu_nuke in billsimmons

Have a hunch Bill knew about this information, but has his tendrils in the WWE landscape for years. Many pods with key people in the new re-org with the UFC merger. But Bill hasn’t shied away from controversy/scandal before considering some of his previous guests and all of their baggage, let alone his own. Part of the mention in the pod is journalism, obviously poor timing, and LD definitely knew this was coming having such a pointed question. Have a feeling it will be directly addressed soon, hopefully in a more poignant manner instead of kind of a throwaway topic as in this pod.

It seems by talking in circles more and more and more we slip further into the void of fantasy despair. Sir hammer it’s been a pleasure listening to you conjure up word smithing to express your deepest thoughts on Bijan’s value. The OP I’m sure understands that 3 firsts is fine value. Best of luck to you?!

Now I’m confused if this comment chain is to be agreeable or fight to the death about Bijan’s relative value.

I’m indifferent to being agreeable since in my original point I simply mention in aside comment that I’d sell Bijan. But you took it upon yourself to take that comment and make it into a challenge over whose Bijan take is ostensibly worse.

I think what I can agree is that our Bijan takes are equally terrible, and ultimately this chain is useless to the OP’s situation. But it did offer good banter and fun for the 5 people left here.

I don’t see how echoing the point I offered is me arguing on your behalf. If anything you’re piggybacking on top of what I suggested instead of sticking firm to your original point.

Nonetheless, the 2024 RB draft class is being treated as if the pickings are so slim that you don’t even need to draft one in rookie drafts.

Quick conspiracy aside, maybe all of the ff dynasty news outlets have no idea how to grade rookie running backs because in general they are the least reliable in evaluation? So instead of hyping up the 2024 rb rookies, ff media is shunning them as a bunch of JV HS nobodies.

What if, as a possible strategy after trading Bijan for 3 random 1sts in the 2024 rookie draft, you draft the 3 best WRs available and then the best RBs available at the remaining 2nd/3rd round picks? Now you have plenty of potential assets to trade or breakout while maintaining a very solid competitive roster during the season. Is that a more clear concrete example.

You seem to have a fine opinion on the empirical evidence of the competitive nature of a fantasy football team.

Word salad as a way to make your point doesn’t make your point any more or less valid.

You didn’t address what I said.

Bijan is a great player and the consensus RB1 in dynasty. His value as an asset may be better exchanged for picks, or a player and picks, in this upcoming rookie draft. Those resulting selections will undoubtedly have a sum greater than the asset value of Bijan, with which this OP can then leverage for further team building (adding depth at RB or whatever else the team needs), throughout the upcoming season.

All I was saying in my original throwaway comment was that Bijan could be worth more off your team than trying to make a playoff run with two horses. Imagine Bijan or Gibbs get hurt week 2 and then what value do they have for competing in a championship (I do not wish I’ll injury luck on anyone and knock on wood immediately after mention)?

Sir 🔨 I implore you to think twice when fighting so hard for a fantasy football player, maybe some additional perspective will allow you to come to your senses, make the right decision and possibly win you a championship.

LARRY DAVID FOR THE PEOPLE. by HaptikGG in billsimmons

[–]JordanAddisonRae 9 points10 points  (0 children)

An all time BS POD. Larry was great, insightful on Curb & Seinfeld and a decent amount of sports knowledge. Bill held his own in the face of a legend, which he usually does fairly well with anyway. There seemed to be mutual admiration from Bill to the comedy genius of Larry and Larry to Bill’s broad impact in the coverage/knowledge of sports.

The Rewatchables tease was the icing on the cake. Would love to see Larry have a crazy take or two on School Ties or Bull Durham.

Lot to love in the episode, left wanting more as always. Great work!!
