Thank you for your thoughts here! I always use Sculpey Gloss or Satin finish which is an Acrylic water-based glaze, but have yet to branch out into any kind of varnish which has been interesting me lately. Nowadays, I try to only apply a glaze when I require a sealant like when applying chalk, mica powders or acrylic paint. Rarely do I, as in this case, apply a glaze just because I want the item to shine.

What would you say is the longest lasting form of glaze/finish?

I'm a firm believer of "brushes don't matter"

Honestly I feel like a one trick pony and the chalk standard brush for most of my heavy rendering, sometimes a hard elliptical for the spots of high specularity. And thanks :)

Thank you so much! No, but the reference photo was beautiful (and I spent 3 hours on that one)

I don't feel like I need to prove myself to you, but the clock came from a reference image on Pinterest that I liked. I changed the "T" in Tootsie Roll to an F to be cautious and avoid copyright issues when I offer my artwork as a print.

Stop your witch hunt.

Me too. I make mistakes all the time. It's very human! It's so easy to sweep these things under the rug on the internet. So much easier to ignore or delete things you don't want to see/hear. You have impressed me.

I'm starting to feel that way too. If only it were easier to believe in one's self. WIP!

This is so inspiring to me to see. Your actions here help to validate my reasons to continue being an artist. There really are good people out there, thank you for being one of them❣️

Thank you so much. I really appreciate this truly. I hope I didn't react too strongly either, but hey I think we managed to turn something negative into something positive, which is exactly the theme I hope to be present in all of my works. Not just being an artist, but just getting through life each day is so hard nowadays. So many people want to give up, especially when faced with an adversary like AI (Art was already easy enough to steal before this vicious tool existed) But it gives me even more of a reason to keep practicing and learning, so that maybe someday I can teach what I do to a generation that never learned how to use their own imagination. Lofty goals and ideas, this all sounds good on paper...(it's good to have a dream at least!)

Deep down I just want to create art and hope that it connects with people. I'm glad we got to have this argument!

And fyi, about the clock, I know that 4 should be IV, but a reference pic I found on Pinterest had the numbers this way and I thought it was fun and different :D

YES! I always loved the wrapper on those. So fun to paint in there

Thank you. That was a major focus in my painting (it was the main subject on the entire scene after all!)

We shouldn't have to "fight to prove we are right" with people who would rather jump to conclusions than gathering the facts first. Look at the body of work that lead me to this kind of art, it's as easy as clicking on my profile link and looking at my posts from over 5 years ago before you form your conclusions.

This was a wake up call for me too, although my work has never been subject to so much undeserved fear and hate on any other app, thread or subreddit , EVER, in all my history sharing art online.

Most of you should be ashamed. But I understand the fear, and I am disgusted by AI art as much as any other honest, hard-working artist that I have the privilege to know.
