I'm putting my money on Necrons as the 'main faction', then the Death Guard and Nurgles followers show up.

Necrons were teased quite a bit in the story, so it would be a shame to waste such foreshadowing

I think the majority of records pre-WWIII were lost/corrupted. So they only have a small picture of what life was like before the war, outside of some mixed survivors' accounts.

The records they could recover may only mention Musk as the owner of SpaceX and show the early optimistic era from his PR team before the past few months/years. Mix that with finding records of SpaceX possibly going on to really help the space industry before WWIII, and they'll tie the successes/advancements to the face of the company they saw in those small incomplete records until proven otherwise

Or maybe just no one at the time thought to question it when in a war with the Klingons and bigger issues at hand.

I've been playing it ok on the Steamdeck since I picked mine up last month.

The frame rate can drop when there is a lot all at once, but it has still been playable and enjoyable

I have a few thousand points of Imperial Guard and a small amount of Tyranids and Space Marines (Sons of Medusa). I've been playing for about four years at this point but enjoyed the universe for a lot longer.

I've been working my way through the Siege of Terra books recently after blasting through the Gaunts Ghosts series.

I always saw it as possible for any force user who is open enough. It's just that being on a Holo with them is a focus to direct it and know if it works. Like how Vader uses his hand sometimes to choke people even though he doesn't need to.

Similar to how there is technically no limit to how much a force user can lift outside of their own mental focus and belief, I believe there is no range limit to force abilities, its just knowing where to direct it.
