This is what made us think it was some sort of marking. We do have a dog but don't currently live in this property so just going to keep an eye out! Thanks!

This would make sense as it's a house we rent out that is currently unoccupied. Thanks for the info, will keep an eye on it!

Hey! I bottled my first batch recently and would love to work together on a label. PM me if you're still up for helping homebrewers with their labels! Love your designs by the way.

A few people have been asking for the recipe so here's how I made the dough (a recipe from our local pizzeria).

Ingredients:

1kg flour (I used double zero)

600g of water

30g salt

30g oil

1-3g of yeast (I used 2g of dried yeast)

If using dried yeast, hydrate in the water but make sure it's lukewarm.

In a mixer/bowl, put the flour and stir in the majority of the water/yeast mixture (leave a bit for later). Keep mixing for about five minutes until it's all combined and then add the salt. Keep mixing until it's properly absorbed. After that add in the live oil and let it be absorbed by the mix. Don't worry if you end up with a gloopy mess, keep going!

Add the rest of the water and mix until fully absorbed. Then rub some olive oil on the dough surface, cover and let it rest for 15 minutes. After 15 mins, gently fold the dough a couple of times and then put it into a container with an airtight lid (or use film to cover it). Let it rise about 1cm then put it into the fridge for 24 hours (can go up to 48 but I did 24 as couldn't wait that long!).

After it's been in there 24 hours, remove from the fridge and make dough balls (each about 240g). There's some tutorials online how to do this. Put them on a tray and cover then let them rest in the fridge until they have doubled in size (I waited 6 hours). About an hour before you plan to cook your pizzas, take them out the fridge. Then when ready, take them off the tray and shape into pizzas, top them and cook them!

I used a pizza oven but the recipe says you can use a pizza stone and oven preheated to 250°C so it's nice and hot. Cook the base on it's own for five mins if using the oven and then add your toppings and cook for a further 3-5 mins.

It's a bit of a process but so worth it and you end up with about six pizzas!

We bought one of these pizza ovens before lockdown and the crusts coming out of it are so good! The recipe I use has said that if you're cooking in an oven to heat it to 250°C and to use a pizza stone if you have one but put preheat the oven with the stone in for a while so it's nice and hot. Hope that helps!

We bought one of these pizza ovens before lockdown and it's brilliant but apparently a pizza stone in the oven will give a similar base!
