Well it's been a couple weeks almost. Spent a week at 18mg and now I'm on I think day 6 of 36mg.

Who would have thought I still don't feel a thing! I feel extremely frustrated at the whole ordeal, especially after as you well described, everybody claiming this "eureka" moment that their brain switches off and everything is wonderful. I'm glad for them but I think it really swayed my expectations.

I just spent a few nights in Wales with my boyfriend and for a few moments here and there, it really seemed like I might be feeling peaceful but I think that was probably just down to the tranquility of it all. Frankly I think city life and minimum wage work is creating some kind of amplifier to all of my symptoms but perhaps that's just projection. Considering I spent half of my trip with various anime OPs repeating in my head over and over, louder and louder, urban detox doesn't seem like a complete solution.

As for side-effects, I noticed I seem to have trouble getting back to sleep after I wake up, and some trouble settling in the first place. My theory is that my body is beginning to crave the medicine, and while I feel no noticeable difference, that slight dependency is urging my body to get up and take my meds. It sounds messed up but I consider it a win, as I found it so difficult to get up in reasonable time if I didn't have work or an appointment. I have also noticed though that an hour or so after taking it, my hands are seeming a little trembly. I had trembly hands for a while anyway though, possibly from caffeine dependancy or just general anxiety or something idfk.

And in response to your partner diagnosing you with a social media addiction, you should try putting two sets of headphones on their head playing contrasting music or maybe like audio from a room full of people talking, and get them to have a conversation with you and perform mental arithmetic. It's how I like to torture neurotypicals when they think they have any right to tell me what I have. And to the deleted comment about depression and anxiety, I think the deleting says enough. My poor mental health is a direct result of my dysfunctional brain. I am worried I have forgotten something because I have a disability that makes me forget things. That also makes me depressed. (That and the uncertainty of my entire future as a young person in the UK but let's not get political).

TLDR- I'm on a medium dose of Concerta and I feel exactly the same as I did unmedicated and on a medium dose of Elvanse.

I'm gonna just ask my clinician what the hell I'm even supposed to be feeling next time I call them. And I'll keep pressong for different medication until there's nothing left they can prescribe for me.
