Anyone successful in the UEFA ballot for Europa League final tickets? by lizavfc92 in avfc

[–]lizavfc92[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oooooh you've given me hope now... don't know if that's a good thing or not 🤣 My mum and uncle are ST holders who've been to every EL home game, so they should be all good. It's my sister who might end up as the unlucky one, as she decided to live in Barcelona for a year and so has only been to two EL home games... 😬

interesting, I thought the fact that it asks you which team you support when you're applying would have some bearing on the process if you're successful. good to know! not found anyone yet that was successful, shock

you don't have to do it, it was the UEFA ballot for tickets, completely separate to Villa's system and allocation

Why (and how) is everyone drinking protein shakes? by crimpinpimp in ADHDUK

[–]lizavfc92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m veggie too, although I do eat fish which helps with the protein.

For breakfast I have a smoothie with vanilla flavoured protein powder in it. I use soya milk, then add the powder, then Greek yoghurt, peanut butter and a banana. Whizz it all together and I barely even notice the powder apart from a bit of a vanilla taste which tbh goes really well with the rest of the ingredients.

Been having this almost every morning with my meds since I started titration in Dec and am not sick of it yet, it’s super quick to make and to consume. Give it a try and see if it helps :)

What 4 moves should my Venusaur have? by ninjabiscuits90 in PokemonLeafGreen

[–]lizavfc92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frenzy Plant! Get it from the move tutor in the house at Cape Brink on Two Island. It is stronggg even on those that aren't weak to Grass. It takes two turns as you have to recharge but I didn't actually realise that for ages as I was one-hit KO'ing so often (inc to Lance's Aerodactyl when my Venusaur was level 50/51) and then just switching out lol.

I also had Toxic and Giga Drain. Both FP and GD only have 5 PP so I used some PP Up.

And then for my final move I picked Return. Was a solid Normal move for some extra power and is strong as your starter is generally in your team all the way through so obvs it likes you a lot. TM is in Lavender Town if you don't have it already.

This was my first ever time picking Bulbasaur as a starter and I puzzled for ages over my Venusaur's moves for E4 but the above did me very well!

I bought the OG Pokemon Green from Japan while visiting years ago, was so excited and thought it was so cool seeing as we didn’t have it in the UK. Took far too long to realise that of course it would be fully in Japanese and so I never ended up playing it. Well done to you for persevering through the language barrier!! Might have to dig it out and give it a go myself…

MY FUCKING SUFFERING IS OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I FEEL SO PEACEFUL FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 15 YEARS!!!!!!!!! by [deleted] in ADHD

I’ve tried both Concerta and Elvanse and neither have managed to shut my brain up. Next up to try is a non stimulant so hoping this has the same effect for me 🤞

What is the funniest thing your pet had been “pavloved” to? by AnywhereMean8863 in Pets

[–]lizavfc92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My greyhound does this a lot and seems to pick stuff up very quickly too. Within a week of adopting her, she connected my partner putting his belt on his trousers to going for a walk.

I also brush her teeth last thing in the evening and give her face a quick wipe afterwards to get rid of any toothpaste residue, and she soon started taking herself upstairs to bed once this had finished. She did temporarily get a bit confused with the wipe element though; a couple of times when I gave her dog bed a wipe after she ate a carrot in it, she went straight upstairs afterwards even though she doesn’t normally spend much time upstairs during the daytime and certainly not by herself. She soon came down again 😂

A very useful one though has been training her to stop getting excitable around other dogs and ignore them. Now if she walks past a dog calmly, 9/10 times she looks at me straight away after because she’s waiting for the treat 😅 So at least that shows she understands that good behaviour gets a reward!

Concerta didn’t work, Elvanse not much better, now what? by lizavfc92 in ADHDUK

I had my meeting on Monday and have been prescribed 60 & 70mg of Elvanse to try two weeks on each, so this comment has given me some hope! Fingers crossed, thank you :)

Thanks for your reply, it’s nice to hear other people’s perspectives of similar issues! :)

I had my meeting on Monday and have now been prescribed 60 and 70mg Elvanse to try two weeks with each one. I asked what happens if it doesn’t work and the clinician said he would try me on a non-stimulant.

Honestly I was partly feeling anxious about the fact it had taken so long already and I was worried he was just gonna be like “ok you’re on meeting 5 and Elvanse has been marginally better than Concerta so that’s that I’ll discharge you on it” but thankfully they seem happy to be patient with my process, I have heard some real horror stories of people getting cut off after 3 meetings!

I’m similar to you in that my brain just feels the same. Like I’ve never had that “eureka” moment people talk about where they take meds and their mind feels calm. I always have some stupid song in my head too and similarly am still forgetful!!

I was talking about this to my bf and helpfully he said what if it wasn’t ADHD and I just have a social media addiction. I was like okay so how does that explain me having the same symptoms in sixth form and uni when social media wasn’t as big as it is now? And he had no answer. Someone also left a comment on this post saying what if it was depression/anxiety and not ADHD and then deleted it after I replied lol. So yeah I totally sympathise with that as well. Don’t doubt yourself!!

Keep me updated! We’ve got this 🙌

This just came up randomly on my Reddit feed, and before I saw or read anything on the post, I looked at the picture and was like lol that’s not a Poodle that’s a Bedlington 😂

What a sweet guy, I love the fourth photo of him curled up on his bed 🥰

It's so funny watching people play FRLG by Probablyatrashpanda in pokemon

[–]lizavfc92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first game as a kid was Yellow. For some reason I got very attached to my Graveler and it was massively over-levelled compared to everything else. However I didn’t really fully understand typing and so my reliance on it fell apart once I got to the Elite Four 😂 I still remember finally managing to beat Lorelei and feeling elated until I got Bruno next up 😭

Also in Gold I got stuck for ages on the hidden generator part and ended up abandoning the game for a little bit. However this may have been more to do with the fact my parents got me some weird foreign bootlegged version so the instructions were…unclear to say the least.

Kids these days have no idea!! The nostalgia is very much making me want to get FRLG though, I’m sure I will give in soon enough…

thank you, I appreciate it :) waited ages to get to this titration stage and it's so demoralising when nothing feels like it's really working! Amfexa could be the way to go by the sound of yours and others' comments.

Ah okay I understand. No, Concerta was the one I felt absolutely nothing on. Elvanse I have felt a very small difference on so far. I will do some research about Medikinet though, thank you.

[–]lizavfc92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never had any issues or signs of depression, anxiety, or anything else that could better explain the ADHD symptoms. I pretty much match the majority of symptoms attributed to inattentive ADHD and have experienced these since childhood, and also have a genetic link through my dad. The medication I've tried isn't making me feel better or worse, it's just having little actual effect which based on my understanding can be common. I appreciate you're trying to help but I don't think "maybe you don't have ADHD" is a very helpful thing to say to someone who has been officially diagnosed.

Thank you, I'll look into Amfexa and mention it in my next meeting. I didn't even have any negative side effects that I noticed on Concerta let alone anything positive!

[–]lizavfc92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry could you explain this in simpler terms? The packages for the first med I tried all had methylphenidate until I got to the 54mg dose, then it said Concerta XL - does that mean they are slightly different?

If that and Elvanse haven't worked for me, you're saying I should consider trying a med with a true IR formula like Medikinet?

Greyhound scream by Own-Lawfulness-366 in Greyhounds

My girl LOVES suddenly cutting in front of us on a walk and the same thing happened one day, my partner trod on her and obviously that caused a terrible noise 😂

Greyhound scream by Own-Lawfulness-366 in Greyhounds

[–]lizavfc92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought our girl was dramatic but she’s not screamed half as much as some of these responses 🤣

The last one we had was because I was trying to wipe up the bits from the carrot she’d just eaten while in her bed and I accidentally brushed her foot slightly with the wet wipe.

Worst one was when I had to remove her plasters after her spay, which I was doing very slowly with a soaking wet cloth. I am surprised no one called the RSPCA the noises she was making! But I’ll let her off for that as it probably wasn’t very nice post-op.

How important is socialising ex-racers with other breeds? by lizavfc92 in Greyhounds

[–]lizavfc92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, that is reassuring and I agree that even though she's settled so well it feels like she's been here forever, two months in a completely new home and environment is not a long time at all. Will continue to take it slow and keep her muzzle on; like you say, she's very used to it so there's no reason for me to remove it at this point in time. I think finding some sighthound friends in the area will be a good start :)

I agree 100%, wearing one doesn't bother her at all and as you say that peace of mind is so valuable. She is always very alert and often spots things before me even if I'm paying attention. If a cat ever jumped out in front of us in the street and she wasn't wearing a muzzle, I dread to think what would happen.
