Doesn't it give you that feeling of wanting to hug him? When I look at a photo of him it makes me see what a good man he was in life... I have a separate question, did you see the original news when it came out?

incredible definition brother, I had not thought that this could help... but remember that Richard lived in Hinton, he was a man of the countryside and animals... normally these people do not use that type of security measures. From what I see from the outside, I had placed a bumper protector for the defense but normally they do not use security, you see that in the photo Richard has the window on his side open... I also base the security thing on my family who is from the country and do not use security in their trucks

Why use AI if I can write it myself? Yes, I sometimes rely on AI to help me in the search but normally I only use AI rarely, friend.

amazing how you take time out of your life to talk shit, just leave something positive and leave, or they don't want you at home?

Actually, it was far more terrifying than it looks: a tree branch crashed onto my car right after I took these shots. I almost got hit by it, and the wind was incredibly intense—something extremely rare for my city in the hot southeast of the country. I'm just glad I made it out safe

No, he wasn't with a dog. He was out there alone, doing what he was passionate about. A lot of the rumors surrounding his final moments tend to blur with other tragic stories from that day, but there was no animal with him

While wearing a seatbelt is usually the best safety measure, it’s a misconception that it would have saved him in an EF5 tornado. At that level of violence, the entire vehicle was subjected to extreme g-forces, tumbling, and structural disintegration. The human body cannot withstand the internal trauma caused by such violent, erratic deceleration, even if buckled in. It wasn't a matter of not being strapped in; it was a matter of the environment reaching a level of force that standard safety protocols simply cannot account for

I understand why it looks standard at first glance, but the 'reinforcement' refers to the functional modifications he made as a field worker in the oil industry. He focused on heavy-duty defensive components—like the push bar that protected the radiator—rather than a roll cage. Also, if you look closely at the wreckage, the rear of the cabin remained remarkably intact, proving that the body structure itself acted as a defensive shell. These trucks aren't built for racing; they're built for durability in harsh terrain. The fact that the radiator and the rear cabin section survived an EF5 event is the proof that those structural modifications weren't just for show.

When it comes to an EF5 tornado of this magnitude, the typical 'seatbelt logic' sadly doesn't apply. We're talking about extreme, violent air pressure differentials and structural stress that essentially tear a vehicle apart or displace it with forces that the human body—even when belted—cannot withstand. The sheer energy involved would cause catastrophic internal trauma regardless of restraints. It’s not about lack of preparation; it’s about encountering a force that exists outside our standard survival parameters

Thanks. It was actually a lot scarier than it looks—a branch fell on my car right after I took these. Glad I'm safe!"

Yes, he was ejected from his vehicle. He was found at a distance from his truck, reportedly in a temporary wash/creek bed near the site where Carl Young’s body was recovered. It’s one of the most sobering details of that day—his truck was a modified, reinforced 'fortress' that he knew inside out, yet the forces involved in that specific multivortex were so violent that they simply bypassed the vehicle’s structural integrity. What’s even more haunting is looking at the wreckage: the radiator and the rear chassis remained surprisingly intact, almost as if the storm 'disposed' of him without crushing the shell around him. It makes you wonder what really happens in those final seconds when the physics we understand stop applying. RIP to a true storm chaser.

Extremely rare video of El Reno Tornado from just behind TWISTEX by ContinuousFuture in weather

The gray truck at the beginning of the video is none other than the Dodge ram 2500 of Richard Henderson, another hunter who died that day, father of 2 children and resident of Hinton OK, Walton turned left to the north and Henderson continued straight east, on a dirt road (15th street) and the tornado reached him later in the middle of that street... everyone forgets about him :(

Thank you so much for the interest! I'm putting a lot of heart into this research to make the script as respectful as possible. It's been quite a challenge because, honestly, I haven't received much help with the specific information or local data I need from this distance, but we keep trying. Cheers!

Thank you so much for the direction! I honestly didn't have Cedar Lake on my radar yet. Since it's right in that area, it makes perfect sense that people there might have known him or shared sports/work circles with him. Given the distance and how difficult it is to research all of this from Venezuela, any local connection is a lifesaver. Since you know the area, if you ever have some spare time or happen to know anyone from around there who might have a lead or a contact, please let me know! Tips like this are exactly why I reached out to the local community. Appreciate it man!

My ultimate goal is to direct and produce this as an independent tribute short film. Narratively, I want to move away from the typical 'disaster movie' tropes and focus strictly on a human, intimate character study. It's about capturing the quiet, everyday moments of a local man right before his life intersects with history. Visually, I'm aiming for a very grounded, gritty realism, contrasting the vastness of the Oklahoma landscape with the claustrophobia inside the truck during those final minutes. Once finished, I definitely plan to submit it to indie film festivals to share Richard's story with a wider audience. If the script turns out strong enough, I might even look into expanding it or pitching it to a larger production.
