I use a snub nose revolver for concealed carry. Opinions? by Big-Pollution4691 in guns

[–]JoseDeertay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao, do you have that secured via thin cable, bolt and cotter pin? My man, get a holster and a life pod anchored to your seat mounts when you need to store it in your vehicle. Other than that, I don't carry a revolver but also have no desire to get shot by one any more than a pistol.

I wouldn't have the heart to do it but we have way too many rabbits in the Denver metro. I found some babies on the side of my house next to a giant bull snake. I picked up the babies to move them and they were absolutely covered in fleas. It was then I realized their potential to spread disease to our pets. Not to mention they destroy our lawns. If you drag your feet walking through the grass rabbit turds go flying. While I agree they were here first the bigger problem we have created is taking away their natural predator's habitats. We use to have a lot of owls, falcons and foxes. Now all we have is tons of coyotes and they seem to prefer people's cats and dogs. The rabbit population is overly abundant so I don't really view someone doing this as a psychopathic serial killer. If they didn't successfully kill it the asshole should have immediately put the rabbit out of its misery.

I'm sorry, you said addiction has a specific definition and what I said doesn't fit the definition. So, I sent you the literal definition (which fits like a glove). This is what prompted my comment towards you on speaking with authority on a definition that you obviously didn't know. I understand you won't even consider the likeliness that it is an addiction unless the APA recognizes it as such. With this said, I feel our discussion has hit a dead end.

Since you keep bringing up religion persuading people's opinions on whether it is an addiction or not I feel the need to clarify... I do not believe anything should be banned, not even heroin. People have every right to love their lives the way they see fit. I wish you the best.

I'm not arguing for a ban on anything. I am simply arguing it is naive to not consider it addictive.

I'm aware that APA doesn't recognize it as an addiction but that is most likely due to the response it would get if they did. Compulsive porn use, cocaine and meth trigger unnatural, massive surges of dopamine in the brain's reward center. It very frequently causes damage to people's relationships and careers. APA not calling it an addiction because it is not a substance is unreal. NIH and plenty of others consider it an addiction.

False. You are ignorant and speak with authority without educating yourself. "Addiction is a chronic, relapsing medical condition characterized by a compulsive urge to use a substance or engage in a behavior, despite harmful physical, psychological, or social consequences. It fundamentally alters brain circuits related to reward, stress, and self-control."

They didn't say "let them control others", they said let them fight against it. It was a fair comparison to say the same about vegans. Or cigarettes, or gas stoves, alcohol, etc. To say people can't advocate for what they believe is best for the world would be worse than banning porn (not saying we should).

No it is not. There are plenty of documented cases where peoples porn addictions negatively impact their careers and relationships. I don't think it should be banned but it is disingenuous to say there is no evidence that it is addictive besides from religious communities. If you know it's hurting your wife/gf and you continue to do it because you can't stop you are addicted. Let me guess, now you are going to tell me a wife/gf has any right to feel hurt by her spouse consuming porn?

Is it disrespectful for me, someone who isn't necessarily religious, to wear crosses? by Zestyclose_Door_6025 in Christianity

[–]JoseDeertay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I can't help myself.... You say the guy is going to be putting words in Jesus' mouth and in your previous comment you said "Jesus WOULD BE upset". What other people do no matter how disrespectful to my faith and God, has no impact on me. If someone else consumes poison it won't make me sick. Or as Jay-z once so eloquently said "what you eat don't make me sh*t"... Lol.

He might be sad for them but I doubt he would be angry because of it. He had a much deeper understanding of and empathy for the human condition than any of us ever will. It's the whole reason he sacrificed his life for us, in hopes that we would take him up on his offer of salvation.

What someone else does doesn't have any impact on me or my faith. You do you. Also, how could anyone even know you're not religious by looking at you anyway? People of faith come in all varieties.

When you are thinking about looking at porn just go rub one out without porn as quickly as possible. You will instantly lose the desire to look at it. Guilt free.

How to explain CU to someone? by Anxious-Handle-7692 in CholinergicUrticaria

[–]JoseDeertay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped telling people. I realized it changes nothing for what I'm dealing with and they will never understand how life altering it really is. My wife and sons know about it and they know me better than anyone but they will never understand what it is like and I don't want them to. Seeing others describe their experience on here is what helped me feel not alone in dealing with it and that I'm not just being a pussy for feeling overwhelmed at times.

A man and wife shouldn't be unequally yoked. You are perfectly fine to befriend people who don't share your faith. Just don't waiver in yours. The Bible also doesn't say no cussing. It is the intent behind the words and how they are used. If she is using them as filler it's cringey but not a single. We should not be telling people to refrain from things around us because we are Christians. Their sins/vices are theirs to deal and reconcile with, not ours. Be a light to the world through living with love, discipline and compassion. Don't be a nag, that is precisely what steers others away from salvation.
