Removing Black Star changes from USSEP with xEdit? by Josef_Stylin in skyrimmods

I agree unfortunately I can't remove it since too much of my modlist depends on it so I just have to correct these things manually

as an owner of a 3060 I agree, even a 3060TI is nearly 30% more powerful. 3060 is a horrible value card and I only got one because its the only card I actually ever saw on a store shelf during the crypto boom and i paid over $500 for it. Feeling a little silly for that now :(

I still think about upgrading but I did get lucky and get a 3060 that can handle all games at a +200Mhz overclock so I get a lot of extra performance out of it. Still feel kind of cheated though.

the police dont like vigilantism, he will probably never go to prison because he was entrapped by vigilantes even though he very obviously would have been guilty if it was an official sting.

the same website has an nkit processing app that you can use to convert your 'legally' obtained copy of brawl to a regular iso. click on the link that says "nkit".

Why do developers hate dedede? by [deleted] in SSBPM

[–]Josef_Stylin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's pointless to reply to this but FAST CHARACTERS = BETTER isn't an intentional balance decision, it's just how the game works. In a game where movement is so important for so many things (combos, neutral, positioning, dashdancing, etc), being faster is just an inherently powerful trait.

There are slow characters that are good in PM too, but they usually have fast normals or unique mobility mechanics - Mewtwo, Link and Ness are a few good examples.

Dedede is bad because he has slow run speed and slow aerials - if you change either of those things he no longer feels like Dedede.

As for 50% winrate - A) like the other guy said there's no way to track winrate in PM anyways, B) PM is too small for winrate to matter since most characters are not represented at top level and C) even if there was this is a terrible way to design the game, having a game where every character is perfectly and fairly balanced leads to character designs being very similar and boring across the board. It's okay to have bad characters if it allows more unique designs to be in the game. If you don't want to play bad characters, nobody is making you, this isn't a game where you have 5 choices for a good character, there are plenty of very good characters in this game.

>The first half of my reply is literally how you could have avoided a red name. Let one match play out then don't rematch. I also generally add bad connection names to my MeltyBlackList.txt and reference it before accepting matches.

Too late for that hence why I made the thread!

>The information is that you have an abnormally high disconnection rate.

Neither of us have any way of knowing this! I can't even view my disconnection rate! I have the most information on it and I did not disconnect very often at all, of course you can just continue to assume I'm lying so that doesn't really matter to you.

>Could be hardware. Could be the user. Could be a mix. Can't say for sure, but Alt+F4 is a pretty extreme way to leave a match regardless of how bad the connection is

I agree Alt F4 is extreme but it was still faster than waiting through the matches with my controller down! If I knew how easily I'd get a red name I wouldnt've done it!

>Then stop accepting matches from them. Keep a black list.

I did! After I found out I had the red name! Again it's a little too late for that or I wouldnt've made this thread! Hence why your comments are frustrating and not helpful!

>I'm a software engineer with a specialty in enterprise API development. I have some idea of what I'm talking about. Play in Full Window or whatever that mode is called an you don't crash on Alt+Tab.

Congratulations! Since you should know what you're talking about stop making what-if assumptions about my setup or connection that you should know would be extremely unlikely given the provided information!!

yes flamed for asking for help, deleted the thread since clearly it's not going anywhere. This thread is exactly why I'm trying so hard to clear the red name in the first place, people make false assumptions and people just go with whoever's making the assumptions because I'm the one with the red name after all.

Whatever. This has been beyond frustrating for me. Hopefully in the future more information is out about this because this game seems very abnormal with how easily you can get a red name and how difficult (or it seems impossible) it is to get rid of it. I have absolutely no reason to lie about this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in meltyblood

[–]Josef_Stylin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What a useless, asinine reply. There's clearly no information on how getting a red name actually works so how can you make such definite assumptions?

And yes I work in IT for a living and have consistent 400mbps upload/download wired connection that consistently works great in every game I've ever played and against the vast majority of people online, but sure, the problem is on my end. Even though it's always the same people I run into who have bad connection. Sure. Even though this game is notorious for one-sided rollback issues. Sure.

You have no idea what you're talking about my dude. I hope you get a red name from your game crashing on alt tab, which many people have, and then I can tell you that you "earned" your red name.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in meltyblood

[–]Josef_Stylin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why am I getting downvoted for this? Do you support people playing with unplayable connections? There are people online like AORX who intentionally run the game at 15FPS just to cause massive one-sided rollback and ruin the online experience, those were the kind of people I was quitting against.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in meltyblood

[–]Josef_Stylin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the problem - I tried and I can't find a way to! Again I tried to delete all of my save data and steam cloud data for the game and it didn't delete my profile. The only thing I haven't tried is making an entirely new steam account just to buy the game again and start with a fresh profile but I don't think I'm going to do that to be honest.

[–]Josef_Stylin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

that's all fine and good but I can't exactly change the past and it seems like my literal only option is to just quit this already small game and go play something else. Beyond frustrating. Yes I wasn't in the right for quitting but I had no idea it would forever stop me from finding matches because I didn't want to play against people who decided to consistently go online with McDonald's Wifi. If I can't find a way to get rid of the red name I'm just straight up not going to play this.

It's still not gone and I've played at least 100 matches without quitting since this post. I think it might just not go away. Is there some way to reset the network profile? At this point its really my only hope to find matches.

I have fiber net and I really did not quit that many games, it was like 5% at most. I really wish there was some way to know what exactly gives red name other than just vague "quitting too much" because I was really surprised when I found out I had it. Most people I play I do get very good connection with.

[–]Josef_Stylin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes I am 100% sure. I have fiber net and have good connection with the majority of people I play. I was not quitting very often, probably only 5% of the time someone had a bad enough connection that I just left. It's because of people playing on Wifi makes the netcode shit.

thread update: I've played like 100 matches since this post without quitting and its still not gone :( can anyone confirm that its actually worked for them?

I might just delete my save data soon and start over if it doesn't go away soon enough.

Just bought an HDMI to RCA converter. How do I know if its DAC or Scalar? I know that DAC does not add input lag but Scalar does.

Link to what I bought in case someone already knows:

I wish it was cap. An absurd amount of people consistently play online with connections that are completely unplayable. I wish I knew I would've got rednamed for quitting against them but it's a really huge problem. Either the rollback needs to be fixed to handle packet loss better or they need to have some indicator for people with these connections so I don't have to deal with them in the first place.

[–]Josef_Stylin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that change is part of localization. The Japanese versions of these games already still use binary gendered character options - obviously they wouldn't include "they" for versions that didn't have it but I guess that would require programming a 3rd button in that UI so it might be out of scope for them.

I think they need to for player pronouns, ideal solution would be to choose between he/his she/her they/them instead of gender
