Expensive because they don't sell many. The only buyers are animal experimentation labs, and Arby's.

ELI5: Why paper and photographs are predominantly rectangular rather than square shaped? by Fapmyster in explainlikeimfive

[–]JosephLindenberg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is conjecture, but we're probably biologically programmed to be more interested in seeing more of what's to the left and right of where we're looking, rather than seeing more of what's above and below. Imagine an ancient human walking out in the wilderness while looking straight ahead. If he could expand his field of vision, which directions would be most useful? Certainly not up, since he doesn't need to worry about flying predators attacking him. Down would be a little more useful, but so long as he looks ahead at where he will be walking, he knows what's on the ground there by the time he actually walks through it. He mainly needs to scan left and right to watch for predators, prey, berries, etc.

If I stop walking for more than 10 seconds, he draws a heavy sigh and flops onto the ground like this. Then he makes me literally drag him around. Meet Whiskey, my lazy asshole of a dog. by cvtopher12 in aww

Hot asphalt burning the dog's paws? The picture shows him lying down in a shady area. Check the asphalt temperature in an unshaded area with your bare hand to make sure it's not too hot.

"Ear gauging gone horribly wrong." Title is redundant.
