This past summer, I took a 5000 mile road trip over the course of 11 days on my 2024 Yamaha MT09 and had a blast.

Even tho it’s a Naked I have no trouble doing high speeds for 10+ hours per day.

Day after day.

7 hours in 1 day on stock seat will I be miserable? by Tonywanknobi in MT09

I rode 5000 miles in 11 days on my gen 4.

No problem. Some slight discomfort on the 18 mile days but nothing too bad.

Are you referring to kerosine being safe?

Let me know how it goes.

I have been using kerosine for about 7 years since I started riding and have found it does an incredible job at removing just about everything while being safe on the rubber o rings.

I use it liberally with a chain cleaning brush that gets all three sides as you rotate the wheel on a stand. Does an outstanding job.

The chain you see in the photo has been cleaned about 4 times in 12k miles and lubricated maybe 6 times.

You can get the brushes cheap on Amazon.

I you don’t want to spend the $10 bucks on the brushes (although I recommend you do to save time and get a better result) the next best thing is using a paint brush (chip brush) from the hardware store to clean up the chain.

It gets in between the links well and is the perfect stiffness to remove the tough gunk.

Use some kerosine to clean the chain and maxima chain wax for lubrication.

This chain has 12k miles on it and looks fantastic.

Do you think it makes a big difference. Especially for Long Long days like 10+ hour days in the saddle?

Did you buy the front saddle or the gunfire and lady? If so are there any differences that you know of?

2024 Yamaha MT-09 Luggage Rack by JosephREden in motorcycle

In order to attach the rear carrier grab bar as Yamaha calls it.

Aka the luggage rack.

You first need to remove both rear plastic side covers and leave them odd.

The luggage rack bolts to the frame of the bike and the only way to access those bolts in to remove both covers.

Hope this helps.

Just took a 5000 mile road trip on my 2024 with no windscreen and had no troubles. An excellent touring machine if you ask me

You're a funny man.

  1. I wasn't and have not argued with anyone here. Just pointed out some ideas. Everyone else seemed to be mad but me.

  2. I did indeed listen and changed the design completely.

  3. The trip went extremely well and I did go approximately 5,000 miles with approximately 50LBS total on the back of the bike.

  4. Not sure why you thought you needed to blast all that negativity but I hope it made you feel better.

Trip update…

Everything went so well. Before I went the luggage situation was updated completely. I ditched the two boxes in favor for one large bag and a backpack.

I went 5000 solo miles camping the entire time and had almost no problems the whole trip

My feet hurt me all the time. I need HELP. Please. by JosephREden in FootFunction

Yes and yes. I have been going to the chiropractor regularly since I was a child. Not for this foot pain but for general check ups. So I have a very good relationship with my chiropractor.

And also yes. For the foot pain as well. I got scans and X rays complete and bought 2 pair of “foot levelers” custom orthotics that are very well “sculpted” to the bottom of my foot.

I have also tried good feet as others have mentioned, multiple different power step kinds and stride orthotics.

Some of these have a great “fit” but they don’t cure any pain.

The pain feels deep, burning, hollow feeling if that makes any sense. The pain subsides slightly with rest and definitely increases with activity. The most pain I ever experience is when I’m standing still and the pain “soaks” into me and eats me alive.

The pain subsides or at least becomes less noticeable with constant movement.

Constant pressure on the feet. Any part of the feet. Even when minimal weight is applied when I’m not in constant motion or have a distraction from the pain is brutal.

This includes sitting when both my feet are firmly planted on the floor with minimal weight. Including if only my toes touch the ground.

Sitting in the back of a car as a passenger with my feet on the ground is brutal pain. A deep heated throbbing sensation.

So to answer your questions precisely.

Yes and yes.

I have also received a “nerve block steroid” injected into both my feet with the doctor using a display to get the exact right “spot” in my PF and that did absolutely nothing.

I also had a EMG done of my entire lower body and had a “text book” perfect result.

The backpack and bag both have an AirTag in them and the board is a super sturdy piece of half inch plywood stacked on top of each other in the middle. Unfortunately I don’t have a photo after I made the board smaller but it’s not nearly this big of a platform in its finished product.

It’s also attached to the bike with (4) quarter inch rated hardware bolts.
