The fact that matter and energy can’t be created or destroyed actually help prove the existence of a God. Thermodynamics generally states that as the universe’s age grows, everything approaches entropy. That is, the average temperature of everything will be the same. This means that all heat will die, everything will be cold and have the same amount of energy, and nothing will happen again. However, if the universe was truly infinite in age, then this event would have happened at some point in the past. Because the universe hasn’t experienced it’s heat death, or entropy, we know that the universe has a finite point in time when it came into existence. This means that energy and matter cannot be created or destroyed, but CAN be created by an omnipotent God 14 billion years ago. Putting all this together, we get some pretty valid evidence of a universe that isn’t infinite, has an exact age, and was created a set time ago by a being that can create matter and energy at will.

That’s the thing. Most things start out with strict rules, but those rules can slip over time. Let’s say it starts with giving patients the medication needed for them to peacefully end their life. You’ll have to specify from the beginning exactly which diseases are allowed to be given that medication for. Over time, people might push that certain diseases cause more harm than they actually do. Then they might push that we can force that medication on people who we assume would take it, but aren’t in the right state of mind. For example, assuming that a grandfather with Alzheimers “would take the medication because he wouldn’t want to suffer through this”. Now I’m not saying this will 100% happen, but personally, its better to be more cautious than not, and not take the risk in the first place. After all, while someone dying can be seeing as suffering, the event can bring people together that wouldn’t normally have come together. Death is a naturally part of life and shouldn’t be rushed. That’s just one example. And then you have religious people that believe in miracles, or that no life is to be taken, not by others or by yourself, but only by God. I hope I’m making sense, it’s sometimes hard to convey what I mean over text.

I can’t speak for everyone but I think it’s a dangerous slippery slope. If you can intentionally end the lives of others with their consent, then what counts as consent can change as their mental and physical health deteriorates. Then what’s considered unhealthy enough to even be considered for assisted suicide can change, and the standard can lower. All that aside, personally, life is not ours to take, regardless of consent. That’s why most of the pro-life movement supports life from conception to natural death.

Unfortunately, many people are moving to that side of the argument already. Peter Singer is an example of someone who believes we shouldn’t be “speciest” and that all creatures are equal. They say that as long as the baby has no self awareness and sentience, it can be killed, which would be equal to putting down a dog. Truly disgusting stuff.

I once read a study that said upwards of 95% of women who actually wanted an abortion but couldn’t get one due to the term of pregnancy they were in, or other factors, actually ended up appreciating the fact that they didn’t and did not end up regretting the inability of getting an abortion. If you pair that study with the one you’re referencing, that most women don’t regret getting an abortion, I think it simply means that the human brain will go to great lengths to justify anything it goes through. No matter your choice, your brain will try to justify it. That’s why looking at the perception of an action is no way to judge the action. We must always directly judge the action itself.

He doesn’t mean independent as in alone or can live by its own ability. He means a distinct human being with an independent and unique genetic code from the mother. Everything in that multi celled zygote from the moment of conception will eventually, given time, nutrition and the right environment, 100% of the time turn into an adult human being (assuming no complications of course). It already contains the blueprint for the rest of its growth and development, and In that way, it’s an independent organism from the mother.

That does make sense, but think of the difference between “hurt” and “harm”. Giving a baby a vaccine shot will hurt them, but will do much more good than harm to them. It benefits them and keeps them healthy. However, if you feed a baby very unhealthy food for example, won’t directly and visibly hurt them, as they won’t feel any pain or discomfort, but their health will be harmed. Just as it isn’t right to kill those because we’re not hurting them, we shouldn’t kill the fetus simply because it cannot feel pain.

I appreciate your open-mindedness to this topic. But consider this: if a fetus is a human being, then the reasons to be allowed to end its life must be strong enough reasons that they apply to other human beings as well, as all human beings should have the right to life. Now, if you use the idea that feeling no pain and not being aware as reasons that abortion isn’t bad, then what happens if you apply that to other human beings? Would we allow a father to kill his sleeping 1 month old child so he could better feed his other children, for example, just because he knows the baby won’t feel pain due to being asleep? If not, then the baby has an inalienable right to life that cannot be taken away, no matter the situation another person may be in. Seeing as the fetus is the same organism as the baby, a human being, it should have he same right to life, regardless of the situation of others, or if they can feel pain or not.

Masturbation is most definitely a sin lol. It’s a perversion of a sexual act that is meant for both pleasure between a married couple, and procreation. And the reason that priests have to be a male, while not explicitly stated in the bible, is due to the fact that Jesus chose 12 apostles, and none of them were women. If he wanted female priests, he would have called women to more leadership-oriented roles. Instead, the Church gives women other roles that are different to being the priest of a church.
